Hello all, I was wondering if someone had an exploded view and or a set of instructions on replacing the rear rotors and pads. I am finding out it seems like Dodge has done like Volvo did on my old 240 wagon and put a parking brake aka drum brake shoe setup inside the rear rotor to function as the parking brake.

Started my 2005 Dodge Grand Caravan the other day and couldn't turn the steering wheel. About a minute later the belt squeeled and the power steering started up. Alternator light was not on so I assume the belt was running. 2 more times that day while turning corners I lost the power steering and almost went off the road since I couldn't turn the wheels. At least one of those times ... Read More

I have a 2005 Dodge Grand Caravan, and for the first year we had it, it worked beautifully. About 18 months ago it started acting up. The entire cluster freaks out, the air flow stops, the radio shorts out, the headlights flicker continuously, and the warning lights come on and the van makes that 'ding' noise (like when you leave the key in). Sometimes it feels like the engine pulls a ... Read More

I have a 2005 Dodge Grand Caravan, 3.3 eng. I need the front cover of the engine or some call it the timing chain cover. My alternator bolts to it. Unless you do a lot of work on cars, a basic one that will 1) read out and display the codes and 2) allow you to reset them, is all you need. With the code in hand, there are plenty of resources on the internet that will tell you what the code means, so you don't need an OBD-II reader that does that for you. I have a ~$50 Accutron that ... The only suggestion I have is to take to the nearest dealer to have looked at if you haven't already. They probably can take care of the emission test for you too, I know that some dealers perform an emissions test.
2003 Grand Caravan, low mileage. Check engine light came on for the same reason as previously posted. No luck with the "replace the gas cap solution." My friend the mechanic used nitrogen to try to find the emission leak with no luck. Live in California and can't get new tags until I clear this up. Any suggestions? Looking to do a "smoke test" next, but not optimistic.
The message light is gone now, it could be because I only use ExxonMobil gas. It is one of the perks since I work for them. It's a great van and the whole family loves it.
I have a1996 Town & Country(selling it now) that has 155k miles on it and the CEL comes on every now and then and don't know why. But recently for some odd reason we switched to using name brand fuel stations(BP, Exxon, Shell) it seems to run better and the CEL hasn't come on for past 2 months. Wierd
I bought a new Town & Country in 2005. I took it back to the dealership after the first few days, telling them there was something wrong with the brakes. I was told it was just brake dust because they were new. I had to have brake pads, calipers, and rotors before 6000 miles. This happened again before 11000 miles and again at 15000. The car was a lemon so I ... Read More

the P016 error with missing above 3500 rpm is the crankshaft flex plate (flywheel) that is cracked and the crankshaft position sensor is back there getting information from the flex plate. My leasing company had the dealer replace the cam and crank position sensors first with no fix. Pulling the transmission and replacing the flex plate (flywheel) fixed the problem.

Did you resolve your problem? I have the same exact symptoms... it's like there's a rev limiter at 3500rpm whether its reve'd up with no load in park or driven with load in any gear (auto trans). The same code you got also came up (P0016) but I want to know the actual problem since you've already replaced those and got no joy. Any info greatly appreciated!
I performed the majic trick of disconnecting the battery cables this morning and the CEL went away. Drove around town, got a car wash, fixed my dvd player (ground got disconnected) and drove the family to coach my son's baseball team. No problems, Van is running great. My passenger side power window in my 2005 Grand Caravan stopped working. Several people mentioned how the problem is consistently an overcurrent protector (or fuse) located inside the regulator. Is anyone familiar with where to buy this part? Thanks!

The catalytic converter should be covered by the federally mandated emissions warranty for 8 years or 80,000 miles. If you're below 80,000 miles the converter should not cost you anything. See the following link. http://www.epa.gov/obd/warranties.htm#1 Good luck.
I JUST got this fixed today...the computer needed to be "flashed". The dealer didn't want to do it, $80. They wanted to break open the engine and look at the timing chain, $400. I opted for the $80 fix and it worked so far. I drove about 100 miles today and didn't have any problems.
