    My 2006 Dodge Durango ADVENTURER 5.7L A/C Condenser Fan Motor keeps running or remaining on more than 30 minutes after I shut the vehicle off. I keeps running the battery dead. I don't know if I should replace the fan motor, or if a sensor is going bad. Help please!

    First off, was it a 4wd or 2wd? What was the mileage? Actually, many of us do have a clue about this. The problem on some first generation Durangos was due to upper ball joints that allowed moisture to enter the joint, displace the grease, and eventually wear out the dry joint (somewhat quickly).     I also have a 2004 Dodge Durango that makes a Humming sound after turning the ignition off. The sound seems to come from the exhaust system just in front of the transmission and lasts from 8 to12 seconds. 5.7Lhemi w/164,000 miles. Any ideas ?? Exaust gasket, cat converter, erg system?? Exhaust flow seems strong, no engine lights, runs cool, good fuel mileage, norm eng temp.

    Replace the expansion valve in the front,this is where you get the cold air,this turns the liquid into gas,also,replace the dryer too,this will keep the moister out of the system.

    We are having the same problem but the emission light goes on and off. When the emission light goes off, the vehicle drives normal. I have no clue what it could be! Does anyone have any answers?

    assuming its an automatic, I suspect the torque converter or the tranny soft pack (belts etc.). Good you have the warranty. This could be 1000's to repair.

    Well we know we don't have a leak in the compressor because the compressor is cooling the rear cabin perfectly fine. The freon is not low, we have had it charged and it wouldn't even take a charge from the can and the gauges all show full.Unfortunately it is just the front cabin that is not cooling.Still trying to find the problem.Thanks!
