I need help! I bought my 2004 Dodge Durango in june of 2005. It has the V-8 5.7 Hemi engine. From the time I had it i noticed a light ticking sound when it was idling. I took it to the dealer but they didn't hear anything. Now the warranty has run out and the engine has died! My daughter was using it and she called and told me that it didn't want to go. My Durango was still under the 7 year/70,000 mile warranty. Yes the exact same thing happened. THe valve stem broke and the rod dropped into the block. After about 2 weeks, without any questions, Dodge put in a rebuilt motor. we have a 2005 durango. at 59,000 miles, our compressor went out. fortunately we had a service contract to cover the $700+ repair. a few weeks ago, we took it in again (now 75k miles) and were told the evaporator was leaking. the dealer said it would be about $1200 to repair. at the advice of a friend, i took it to an independent mechanic who did work for him to take a look. ... thanks a lot my sun in lay found the connection not locking to gether and the looseness my cause arking caussing heat build doesnt seem to be getting as hot ill look to see if fan is dirty or plugged ill try to keep in touch thanks brian. Read More...

My next step would be to check the fan motor itself. If you're lucky, it may just be crudded up and in need of a good cleaning. At worst, you may need to replace it due to damaged wiring, insulation or whatnot. tidester, host SUVs and Smart Shopper Read More...

I think you'll need to replace the resistor pack. Melting leads means that too much current is flowing because the resistors can't handle the load. tidester, host SUVs and Smart Shopper Read More...

JUST BECAUSE YOU HAVE OIL DOESNT MEAN YOU LIFTERS WONT TAP..THE COULD BE WORN OUT DEPENDING ON HOW OLD YOUR MOTOR IS OR HOW MANY MILES YOU HAVE....OR IT COULD BE OR VALVES RATTLING. FLUSH YOUR ENGINE WITH SEA FOAM AND IF THAT DOESNT HELP THEN YOU MAY NEED A VALVE JOB Read More...
