    The ecm/pcu is the computer for the car. Wow Dodge is gonna do it for $32.50 wish I was around that dealer. They want $200 to install the pcm/ecu. it only has 3 plugs and 3 screws holding it. I took it off in less than five min. Diagnostic started at $90. Good luck with it and let us know what it turns out to be.

    The A/C evaporator and the heater core are in the climate control plenum under the dash. Both are subject to leaks. If you change one it makes good sense to change both since you have to remove the dash to get the plenum out, a big job. It wouldn't surprise me if your heater core was leaking a little also.

    If it's showing a general computer fault, then by what criteria isn't the computer (I'm thinking PCM here) a suspect? I have the same model but a 2000. The IAC valve has been the problem on mine, but I've never replaced it, just removed and cleaned it.

    I have a 2000 Dodge Durango with 161000 miles. It is in great condition but the cel came on and it has a hard downshift from 3rd to 2nd and then once you come to a stop it has a smaller but still hard downshift from 2nd to 1st gear. I replaced the input and output sensors but the problem is still there. HELP ME!!!

    The PCM is the box near your air intake on the fender wall above the passenger wheelwelI. It has 3 large groups of wires that plug into it.     You need to remove your oil pan and check your the oil pick-up connected to you pump. It's about a half inch pipe with a 11/2" expansion with a screen.     The heater does not blow hot air just luke warm air. The coolant level is ok, the heater core hoses are not plugged, and the engine runs at good temp. What else could be causing this? Thanks

Sometimes it will start off in 1st very briefly and then slip right into 2nd. NO codes through a generic obdII scan. If i do disconnect the battery it starts in first and shifts normally into 2nd only that one time. Any ideas?

    Did you only replace the power steering switch and thats all? If so - you need to remove the connector (Durango side) by cutting all 4 wires off. Take apart the connectors and the 4 pins holding the wires in place. Attach 4 new wires to the pins - solder in place. Reassembly the connector.     Fan clutch was the culprit for my 2000 Durango 4.7. Hayes aftermarket worked better than original OEM. It was an easy fix. But, that should have been found when water pump was replaced, right? So, maybe something else? What is tempeture resister?

    I just bought a 2000 Durango with the 4.7 magnum engine, it has 72,000 miles on it. The computer only shows 14.6 but when I filled the tank, i was getting 17 mpg city and received 19-20 on a trip. I have installed a cold air intake and I believe it helped a little if not it sounds great!, I also installed Splitfire spark plugs.

    I have a 2000 Durango and had the same problem. It would rev 200-400 rpm. I only noticed it with the cruise control set. I replaced the Throttle Positioning Sensor and completely repaired the problem. This is an easy fix, and relatively inexpensive ($38.00 at O'reilly Auto Parts). 2 Torx bolts and one electrial plug (on left side of throttle body assembly)

    The Jumper bypass from dodge dealership for the 2000 durango o2 sensor is 56045483AC, and the price I got in NY is $66.00. But I did not use this Jumper. I just cut off the ground wire which causes the problem and ran a new ground to a different location. See my other post about this. Good luck
