2013 Dodge Dart SXT 4dr Sedan (2.0L 4cyl 6M)

I purchased the 2013 Dodge Dart SXT for $16,500. Considering all it's features, I found it to be a tremendous value that competitors would be hard-pressed to beat, especially domestic makers. The car is agile, very responsive, solid, and offers a very smooth and pleasant ride. Dodge's compact has now returned to it's sleek aerodynamic roots, offering a bit of flare and enough customization options to make it more personal. Expected features like power windows and locks were very welcome on this vehicle, and unexpected amenities like an auto dimming rear mirror and illuminated cup holders were a pleasant surprise which made it more a value altogether. Definitely a great first car.

Favorite Features

The SXT is one of those cars that come with so many features, you continue to discover them months after your purchase. The SXT came equipped with what I expected, power windows and locks, traction control and a multitude of airbags. Bluetooth connectivity was pretty nice. The Dart recognized my Galaxy Note immediately. Making calls and playing music from my phone is a cinch. The Sirius XM radio, 17-inch alloy wheels, dual aux power outlets, Vehicle information Center, Voice activation, and remote start were all pleasant surprises. It even tells you its oil needs changing. Active grille shutters and powered by a 2.0L 160-hp engine, the Dart cruises smoothly doing 32mpg at 95mph.

Suggested Improvements

I feared a feature-packed Dodge compact would come with issues. The Neon suffered the same ordeal from inception to about 2003. The 2013 Dart is no different. Issues I have found are mainly with the radio and remote start. There seems to be a lag in the Bluetooth connectivity. You may not miss it listening to music, but watching video out of sync with audio may prove annoying, and at times the music sounds like a CD skipping. Also, if you turn the radio off, but turn on your phone, the Bluetooth causes the radio to come on. The remote start occasionally aborts for no discernable reason and the XM radio reception is questionable. I'm sure a firmware update (OTA?) can fix this.
