I bought this truck new in the summer of 2005. there was a year end clearance sale and I got a good deal on it. V8 engine, 4 wheel drive, very comfortable seats and drives and handles well.
The plastic used on the doors is ultra cheap however, the dash is a little better but not much.
having 4 wheel drive for ohio winters is nice, this is not a truck made for heavy 4 wheeling. I knew that buying it though. I cant get over 15mpg no matter what I do. for what the mileage is it should have a lot more low end grunt. that and a lot of times the transmission feels like its in the wrong gear a lot. like it should downshift faster when hitting the gas
Comfortable seats, love the seat warmers, the truck is well insulated for noise. the truck handles well for as heavy as it is. BTW i have the V8 SLT Club Cab with the 5 speed automatic... theres no option on here for it
part longevity... heres my biggest pet peeve with this truck. stuff just doesnt last as long as it should. Ive had to replace both tie rod ends at 25,000 miles and the brakes needed calipers rotors and pads at 35,000 miles. I am glad this isnt a daily driver!
Also the Key sucks it has the FOB intergrated. I wonder how many people besides me have had the keychain attachment break off and quit working. also FOB quit working and was quoted $199.95 to have a new key programmed what a ripoff! suggested improvements? kind of a moot point considering the trucks been axed!
