    I have a 2003 dodge dakota 4x4 4.7l, the problem i am having is i can only roll down windows from the master switch,you cannot roll down windows from there own switch(s).I have replaced the master switch,i made sure the window lock is off . but still problem is same as before. I am lost on this one.. anyone have trouble like this?? any info would gladly appreciate. thx Brian

    I AM having problems with my windows in my 2003 dodge dakota, I cannot roll down windows from individual switches i can only roll down from master switch(driverside),i have replaced the master switch checked connections but still cannot roll windows down from back seats or passenger seat. has anyone ever had this same problem????

    You didn't mention the year of your Dakota or the mileage, but yes with older vehicles or high mileage vehicles, the timing chain does stretch and throw off the timing. Even though it's inside the engine, it is a wear and tear item and people don't realize that. The timing chain is very critical to maintaining absolute timing between the valves and the pistons.     My dakota doesnt always want to shift into gear. It sits like its in nuetral or sputters when beginning to drive. took to auto zone they said code was for small vacumm leak but everything was checked. he suggested it could be trans selonoid.

    Yes the Dakota operator's manual advises to remove negative terminal on the Dakota while being towed; I have towed a 2003 Dakota with the battery connected with no problem. One needs the battery to ensure the lights are operational and that your "brake buddy" is powered. So trying to find out if any "damage" caused by leaving battery live.

    I will never buy another Dodge product.... Complaints of poor quality rotors was a problem from 2000-2003. Of course you went 49,000 miles between your second and third replacement. Without knowing how you drive, that could be very resonable. But poor rotor longevity complaints are common on many trucks. The Nissan Titan is definitately the worse I've ever seen.     My 1997 Dakota started turn signal problems about 1999, just after warranty ran out. Dodge mechanic replaced turn signal assembly, then turn signal flasher (relay).     Have you owned GM products in the past? They use vacuum on some models with 4x4 (S-10s especially). Dodge is electronic transfer case control. Because of the year I'd recommend checking the electrical connections at the transfer case for corrosion.     How many miles? The first thing I'd check is all the connections to the spark plug coils. If they're okay you might have a worn or cracked spark plug or punky coil. Regards, Dusty

    Received the copy of "Dodge Magazine" for Dodge owners. There's a photo of the 2004 Dakota, and it looks exactly like the 2003 to me. Don't know what, if any, interior changes were made, but the headlights, grill etc seem to be the same. Now, the Durnago was changed to reflect the Ram's appearance and looks pretty good.
