I'm also trying to replace the water pump on my 2000 Dodge Dakota 3.9 liter. I'm having a problem that I can't get past and was hoping that maybe you could help. I can't get the nut off that holds the fan clutch assembly on. Just need to verify that it rotates counter clockwise to remove, and any tips you might have to hold the clutch and the pulley still to rotate the nut. ... Read More...

Can you please give us more details like: *)Which xfer case does your truck have (the 2000 model-year was supplied with at least 2 different ones) *)Why are you replacing the xfer cases so frequently? I have put three transfer cases in my Dodge in one year. I can't figure out what the problem is with my truck. I am getting ready to buy another transfer case for it again. Is this car with a dodge dealer? With only 2000 miles that is unusual even for a demo. I share your deal with the reliability but at least that year has the 7/70 powertrain warranty. (if you are 2nd owner you must xfer.with 100 fee) You would want to pay very close to wholesale for it as this truck isn't in high demand. The 45rfe, 454rfe, and 545rfe are all electronically controlled via a solenoid pack inside of the transmission. the throttle controlled valve body went the way of throttle body injection and carburetors. you probably didn't hook up the wire to the factory amp. you need to conect it to the power ant. (blue) wire on the radio... it is probably the wire on the truck that you didn't know where it when..... i've done quite a few of them. Read More...

The driver side seat recliner handle on my 2000 Dodge Dakota broke off in my hand today. The seat is stuck back at nearly a 45 degree angle, which, needless to say, makes driving the thing a tad uncomfortable. Hopefully somebody can assist me with a problem I'm having regarding a waterpump I just installed. I just put a new waterpump on my 2000 Dodge Dakota Pickup. The pump works fine, but the engine tempature skyrockets up to past 260 degrees.
