THE CHALLENGER IS HEADED TO PRODUCTION. IT WILL BE A 2008 MODEL. IM HOPEING CHRYSLER WILL OFFER THE RETRO COLORS ON THE CHALLENGER LIKE THEY ARE THE CHARGER... TOP BANANA, GO MANGO... PLEASE,PLEASE chrysler build this car in right hand drive ,give us aussies A real car ,not calibers,nitro,s hornets,and make the 6.4 the top engine and have the smallest of small v6s availeable as well ,remembering that the 70 challenger had 9 engine options slant 6 to hemi.the 3oo is good but the challenger is something else .I just pray that the price of oil starts droping signed long suffering down under ... One's eye sees what it sees. Ain't nothing wrong with that. ;-) Speaking strictly for myself, the first thing my eye sees is the "S" line down the side of both the old and new Challenger as opposed to the accent line that goes straight down the side for the Barracuda. I own 3 e-bodys (1 challenger and 2 barracudas) I know the new one is called a challenger, But it looks very much like a slightly chopped top cuda with a re-done grille looking much like the new mustang grille style. The same was in person, not sure which one got the most attention though. There was a decent crowd @ the GT500 as well. I really didn't look at the Camaro; I hope some clean-up is done to it before it hits the streets, if it does. For me, I'm still leaning towards the Challenger. I don't know if anyone caught the Chicago Auto Show on WGN last night, but the Camaro and Challenger were the stars of the show. They definately generated more buzz than anything else on the floor. I'm going overseas for three years. If that Challenger is in the showrooms when I come back, I'm buying one. Unless they come up with a two-door Charger without that ugly front end.

The first reports were 2010, hence the title of this discussion. I've since heard 2009 and now 2008, and from my perspective, the sooner the sooner. Maybe our Hosts can change the title of this discussion from "2010 Dodge Challenger" to something more generic like, "Next Generation Dodge Challenger". Best Regards, Shipo

Isn't the new Challenger supposed actually going to be a 2008 Dodge Challenger not a 2010? A little while ago it was rumored that it was going to be a 2009 Dodge Challenger, but now is looking to be a 2008 Model.

I agree shipo a 1970 with 3 pedals / 2010 come on with todays technology there's no excuse for this program to take three &1/2 years . how about a 2007 RT 6.1 hemi 6 or 7 speed convertible . I already have the 1970 Dodge challenger 383 4 speed RT convertible and room in the heated garage for the new one bring it on.

Per this Edmunds article http://www.edmunds.com/insideline/do/News/articleId=106045, it seems that our buddies at DC are thinking of re-introducing the Challenger. Ohhh, drool-slobber. I was the proud owner of an original 1970 Challenger, and would dearly love to have another car cut from that type of mold. For my purposes, the closer to the 1970 incarnation the better from a looks perspective, a Hemi would be a MUST as would be a true 3-Pedal ... Read More
