I have a 2006 Dodge Caravan with the 2.4L engine. No major problems at 42k miles. I bought it new in September 2006 and switched to synthetic oil at 10k miles. The only minor problem is that the serpentine belt tends to glaze between 15k and 20k miles. At that point, the belt starts to squeak. Thanks man, just turned over 6K and had my toe set for free as well as the drivers door adjusted. The touring package is definitely a firmer ride than the non touring. Get the leather if you are a new buyer and can foot the cost. Honda would not quote me over the phone even though I was a repeat customer. So I dumped them. I have a 2007 Dodge Grand Caravan. Both power sliding door switches near the doors have stopped working. You can operate them with the key remote or the switches on the overhead console but not the switches on the door pillars. Thanks, but that's what I was thinking to. I talked to the service manager where I bought it and he said that everything now is run buy the computer even your "PRNDL" display. He said to bring it in and they will reflash the computer. Although it is in park the computer is thinking it is in reverse and won't let you start the van. A computer glitch!! We will see!! We had a 91 Caravan that had a similar problem. It may be the park-neutral safety switch or the connection to the switch. This switch prevents the vehicle from being started in any gear except park or neutral. Have your dealer check it out. Good luck. Read More...

We purchased a base 2006 Dodge Caravan in Sept. 2006 with the 4 cylinder engine. With 29,000+ miles, no problems to report. Acceleration is leisurely at best. However, with the size of your family I suggest you look at a 2006 or 2007 Grand Caravan. There are lots around for under $15,000 or $16,000 with low mileage. All come with either a 3.3 or 3.8 V6. That seems pretty low to me, though I am not at all familiar with Detroit driving conditions. With our 2007 DGC with the 3.8L engine, we've been averaging 20.8 mpg overall. Mostly suburban and highway driving. Read More...
