    We have a 2007 Dodge grand caravan. Sometimes the blower will not run when we turn on the heat/air. Sometimes hitting a bump in the road or slamming the hood will cause it to come on when it does this. Any ideas.

    $20k is pretty tough to get into a reasonable mileage Honda/Toyota IMHO. We sold our '05 Odyssey with 100k miles back in Feb for $16k. Stupid money in my book...but I'm not complaining.     Suddenly when we open the doors on our 2007 Dodge caravan the map lights no longer come on. The center light in the interior does come on however. Also when we opened the back hatch the backlight doesn't come on. Am assuming the problem is a switch or something like that. Thanks Mark Radell

    We purchased a base 2006 Dodge Caravan in Sept. 2006 with the 4 cylinder engine. With 29,000+ miles, no problems to report. Acceleration is leisurely at best. However, with the size of your family I suggest you look at a 2006 or 2007 Grand Caravan. There are lots around for under $15,000 or $16,000 with low mileage. All come with either a 3.3 or 3.8 V6. Good luck.

    That seems pretty low to me, though I am not at all familiar with Detroit driving conditions. With our 2007 DGC with the 3.8L engine, we've been averaging 20.8 mpg overall. Mostly suburban and highway driving.

    I'm glad someone understands why I prefer a sedan with a trunk over a hatchback. People think I'm nuts for preferring this but I like the idea of storing things in a trunk which you cannot see from the outside. In a hatchback you could always see what was back there which tempted thieves. Besides, if your trunk is a mess nobody knows.,

    Chrysler said that only part 1 of the service bulletin was done (which was the software update). They said that part 2 (changing the torque converter) was not done.     High miles shouldn't be much of concern on a Toyota and (if you can knock the price down a bit) it would be my choice here. I know prices in Canada are higher than the States, but if you're interested in a Chrysler, can't you buy a new one for about that much or a little more?

    You can still buy a plain Jane 2007 Dodge Caravan (SE model). Some may still be available on dealers' lots. 2007 is the last year for this model. I bought a 2006 model brand new last year. Roll up windows, no power door locks, and no other fancy electrical stuff that I would never use and typically breaks down in the vehicle's third or fourth year.

    Just picked up my 2007SXT. Drove it about 18 miles. So far it shifts fine. Nothing like it used to. No more weird downhshift into 1st at slow, stop and go speeds. The paperwork references TSB 21-015-07. They reflashed the pcm. Good luck. They said this fix just came out 2 weeks ago. Good luck

    Nope, the one I drove felt just fine. Perhaps it's just a case of getting used to the positioning? I'm used to the lever being in that position thanks to our CR-V. Definitely not a positioning issue, it was the mechanical operation of it, it had to be bad.

    That is good news. Dealor called and said the software update came in last week. Taking it in tomorrow. 2007 sxt Hope it works.

    I drove a 2008 T&C Limited a few weeks back, here in Rochester MI.....LOVED IT and agree completely with you but one question. Did you have any issues with the gear shift lever? On the one I drove it was clunky and rough shifting from P to D etc....it just felt like garbage!!

    To everyone with 2007 Caravans. I have an early 2007 model I purchased in December. I just turned 15,000 miles on it. The clunky/rough shift in and out of 1st gear is just as bad as the day I bought it. So the idea that this problem will go away as soon as the van "learns" your driving habits obviously does not apply to this specific problem.

    Shippo, being under warrenty and probably not hurting anything is really not the point, i have owned a 96 a 98 a 2000 and all shifted smooth accept for minor bump shift on the 96, my 2007 shifts like a teenager with a learners permit trying to drive a stick shift for the first time. this is not the same old bump shift thing it is much moore anoying :(

    While I haven't heard of that specific issue with the 41TE transmission, I will tell you that it isn't BS that the transmission is getting used to the driver. These transmissions have a computer that uses "fuzzy logic" to learn normal driving characteristics, and yes, it does take about 2,000 miles before the learning process is complete.
