Hello all, I was wondering if someone had an exploded view and or a set of instructions on replacing the rear rotors and pads. I am finding out it seems like Dodge has done like Volvo did on my old 240 wagon and put a parking brake aka drum brake shoe setup inside the rear rotor to function as the parking brake.
2005 Dodge Caravan-58,000 miles. Disk on the front, drums on the rear. I tried to drive the van yesterday morning. Rear wheels locked up as if the parking brake was on (I never use it). Neighbor came over, checked the parking brake cable; free and loose. He jumped up and down on the rear bumper, while I engaged and disengaged the transmission from drive to reverse. Nothing. Rear cylinders froze up? ... Read More
The two better options for you are the Sienna (as mentioned above) and the 2005+ Odyssey. Problem is....$15k doesn't buy you much in the Honda/Toyota world. We sold our '05 Ody last spring with 100k miles for more than that. In that price/age range, the Ody feels more roomy. As mentioned above if you want folding 2nd row seats the Dodge/Chrysler is the only game in town. Since you mentioned wanting ... Read More

Lisa, this is still not the best location for your post (Chysler Town & Country and Dodge Grand Caravan 2005+ might be a better choice). In general, the model is fairly robust; the most consistent problem I see here involves the power steering reservoir and related ... Read More

the P016 error with missing above 3500 rpm is the crankshaft flex plate (flywheel) that is cracked and the crankshaft position sensor is back there getting information from the flex plate. My leasing company had the dealer replace the cam and crank position sensors first with no fix. Pulling the transmission and replacing the flex plate (flywheel) fixed the problem.

Did you resolve your problem? I have the same exact symptoms... it's like there's a rev limiter at 3500rpm whether its reve'd up with no load in park or driven with load in any gear (auto trans). The same code you got also came up (P0016) but I want to know the actual problem since you've already replaced those and got no joy. Any info greatly appreciated!
How many Dodge Caravan's, Plymouth Voyagers and Chrysler Town and Countries were built between 1996 and 2005? Where can one find this kind of information. Who Know. Who can I contact. Thanks
Any idea from where your leak is coming? As Shipo said, it depends on what is leaking. Also, depending on what is leaking, it may be easier/preferable to fix the leak rather than put an additive in the coolant.
"Is this common?" No. "Will leak stop fix it?" Maybe, maybe not, it depends upon what's leaking.
I have a 2005 Dodge Grand Caravan with 85k and seems to be leaking antifreeze. Is this common? Will leak stop fix it?

I think you really need to know how your going to use your minivan before choosing what to buy. Do you ever carry up to eight people? Honda would be a goood choice here. I would go with a Toyota if I were you (of course I do own a Sienna!). If I'm not mistaken, even a 2005 should have stow-n-go, so you're covered there. I've always heard that Toyotas last forever. Thank you for your comments. New Chrysler costs about 5K more than the 1 year old model. Our budget was ~ 15k$, hence I was considering Sienna.
High miles shouldn't be much of concern on a Toyota and (if you can knock the price down a bit) it would be my choice here. I know prices in Canada are higher than the States, but if you're interested in a Chrysler, can't you buy a new one for about that much or a little more?

Today I unhooked the battery and turned the key 4 times ,then reconnected the battery. The auto lock feature would still not lock the doors when I drove away. I'll try the 4 times then hit the drivers lock button. Now it seems like I read that in the owners manual.
There is a procedure listed in the manual for turning the car on (not starting it) 4 times, then hitting the drivers lock button to enable/disable the locking feature. Might try it, as I did initially a few times before 'finding' that super-secret fuse.
maybe as easy as disconnecting the battery? or pulling the right fuse? I'll get the 9 volt hookup to the cig lighter to save the presets on the radio. If that doesn't work I'll disable the 9 volt too.
I ran into the same problem with our 2005 Dodge Grand Caravan. The locks suddenly stopped working. Neither the switches or key would work. I disconnected the battery, and now things are working again. Hopefully it continues to work...
The auto-lock feature is programmable (on or off), with the factory-set default being "on." I am not sure how to switch it from on to off and vice versa, but it is something that can be done.

Employee discounts have to be considered seperately. You got a much better deal with that discount than you could have with any other brand, so naturally you did the right thing.
