If no instrument lights work try this. (starts and then stalls also) Push the panel around the instrument cluster or strike the dash above the panel. If it then runs fine the problem is loose contacts where on the panels connecting pins (4 I think) To fix takes about 30-40 minutes. Disconnect battery. Remove dash around panel. Remove panel and sand contact pins. Reverse.
On the 11/07/11 i attended NAG (Nepean Auto Group) for an intermittent fault with my 1999 Chrysler Voyager’s warning lights and ignition system. This fault caused the car to start and cut out moments later, or the instrument cluster would fail while driving and not start the next time. The remedy that i had been using prior to taking to NAG was to disconnect the battery for 1+ hours and the ... Read More

I have a DODGE CARAVAN 2000 BASE MODEL. The front passenger side and back slider doors have rusted and the mechanic says that it is cheaper to replace the doors than to do any body work on them. Normally after I drove the car for a while the engine light would go off and everything would be normal. Then the cycle ... Read More
I own Dodge Caravan 1995. I have purchased it when it had 120000 km and now it has 400000 km on it. I never had any problems with transmission or engine. I have a 1997 Dodge Grand Caravan (with about 130,000 miles on it) that is losing transmission fluid (I have to put in about a quart a month). Where it's going is a mystery! You can dis-connect your (-) neg. baterry cable for 5-10 minutes, or if you don't want to lose your radio pre-sets, you can pull the 20 amp fuel pump fuse located in fuse box by the battery for 5-10 minutes. Did you find out why your check engine light is on, and corrected the problem? If not you can expect the light to return.
how do i turn off the "service engine soon" light myself?

I would say no but how many miles has been put on the van since new pads? If I'm reading you right they have only been on for a little over 4 months. I don't think even taxi drivers wear them out that fast. It it is only 4 months I would say they weren't installed right or something is sticking and not completely releasing the brakes.
does anyone know where i can purchase longer lasting aftermarket brake pads and rotors? the brake pads/shoes were last changed just this past march '01. the front brake pads were replaced again just the other day. is it normal for the brake pads to wear quickly on these vehicles? or is it my dad's driving habits (he drives it to work everyday)? or both?
Anyone who claims the pre-1996 Grand Caravan did not have tranny problems is either misinformed or delusional. Tranny failures on these cars were the norm! Check any compiled list of repair records for the Grand Caravan. For the Caravan, esp., the 4-cyl. version, the rate of Tranny failure was much lower. The number of 1996-2001 DC Tranny failures does not seem to be high. The 1996-1997 4 cyl. Mitsubishi engines, however, ... Read More
