Deceptive advertising and sales practices

Not good. I am writing this to help inform public about what appears to be subjective advertising and sales practices. On July 9th I used link on autotrader ad to contact this dealership to inquire about 2014 4runner listed as limited model. I talked with manager at dealership about this truck twice before I decided to drive the 75 mi with my trade, title, extra snow tires to consider doing deal. When I arrived, I discovered the 4runner was base model and not a limited. The manager said he thought it was listed incorrectly once I was on lot and told me he had a limited model but it was "out on a test drive" and cost more. The 4runner had been on their lit for 67 days per the manager but in all that time with it listed on autotrader and with window sticker that said limited, no thought, care, or concern was given to correcting ad or sticker. In addition, the bait you in with low price and switch you to other vehicle sales tactic was employed. Now using logic you gave to conclude one of the following: 1. Dealership accidentally posted a 4 runner as a limited model when it was a base SR5. This was the case for 67 days during which the manager and none of his people "noticed" the mistake. 2. No one at dealership cares about or knows their inventory. 3. Dealership knowingly left ad untouched and window sticker in place for 67 days to lure Customers to lot hoping either to deceive or upsell them. This is a brand name dealership so it makes things a little more concerning since they have big stores in several places. Update. Today is July 10th, and after I told the sales manager that he was using deceptive sales practices in violation of Michigan state law, the ad has been magically changed to reflect the actual model vehicle. Congratulations, it only took 68 days to be honest

New Cherokee Lease

Went to lease a new Cherokee and trade in our Acadia. They did not have exactly what we wanted and did not push us into what was on the lot. The manager made a phone call and got me exactly what I wanted.

HORRIBLE TREATMENT

my husband found a vehicle online that he liked, since we live over an hour away he spoke with sales person via phone, email and text. He let Andy know what we had for a trade-in, where we need a payment and what we were interested for price. My husband took the time to drive all the way to the dealership only to be jerked around with pricing and payments. On top of that the general manager Test drove our vehicle and was blatantly disrespectful to my husband stating "the steering was bad in our vehicle, he did not even want to drive it in the parking lot". Keep in mind this is a jeep with a lift and oversized tires. My husband just drove this vehicle over an hour at 70 mph, there's nothing wrong with the steering on our vehicle. It's a jeep. We feel he was just trying to lowball us on our trade in. My husband is really interested in the vehicle that they have, but against my better judgment The next day my husband sent a counter offer, we have never heard back from them. Lesson learned. We will stick with Crown motors in Holland where they treat their customers with respect and have the decency to return calls and give you a fair deal. Preferred could take a lesson from them, especially the general manager. Complete waste of time and loss of work for my husband. Never again.

NEW 2014 Jeep Grand Cherokee purchase on 9-2-2014

My wife hates going to the Auto Dealerships. Her experience at Chrysler Dodge Ram of Grand Haven was the BEST she has ever experienced. Our Sales person, Kevin H was very professional, knowledgeable, courteous and NOT pushy at all. We purchased on the morning we walked in! The Sales Manager was GREAT and provided a very fair deal for our trade in and a very good price on our new 2014 Jeep. We even met the General Manager who was very approachable and an over all great guy to talk to. Don't buy anything without going to Preferred in Grand Haven, MI FIRST.
