Not the best

by nothappy99 on 03/10/2016

My wife had a tree blown onto her car while driving in December, totalling it. She found an ad for a Forester online, and we went to Walker's on Sunday to look at it. When we got there, they said it had been sold. Finally after 10 minutes, someone found the car-another half hour to find the keys. Took it for a test-drive, and offered to purchase it for full listed price. Planned to write a check that day and pick it up on Friday after they replaced the broken windshield.Financial person said we should wait until Friday to give her the check. We needed to transfer funds from saving into checking, and she said she couldn't guarantee the check would not be submitted before the transfer was done. Filled out all paperwork, and went home. Got a call from the dealership Manager after we got home, saying we had to come back to give them a check that afternoon. Manager accused us of trying to "steal" the car when we were just following the Financing person's recommendation. We pushed back and took them a check Monday morning. Went in Friday to pick up the car-windshield was not replaced. They scheduled it for the Saturday of the following week. Manager agreed to give us a tank of gas for making two extra trips. Took it in the next Friday evening and got a loaner, returned Saturday noon to get our car. No gas fillup, no one knew anything about it, even though it was written on our sale paperwork. Three months have passed, still waiting for corrected title - they had the color wrong on the paperwork they submitted to DOT/DOL.Love the car - but will not go back to Walker's; cannot recommend them. Sales Dept. O.K., Financial-Not Good, Management-Very Poor.

[violative content deleted] with manipulative tactics

by jacknows on 05/11/2011

I have never experienced such manipulative tactics as when I went to purchase a used car here. The car I went to try was a used Mazda. When I got there it didn't start, not to worry, they quickly rushed me off to other cars in their inventory. It almost felt like the Mazda was there as an underpriced gimmick to get me onto the lot. These feelings were further justified when I was called two hours later being told that they had other cars of the same model at their other lot. What a mistake I made to return. They drove me to their other dealership - the Walker's Mazda in Renton where magically though they had promised several cars of the model I was looking for none were to be found and another salesman came out from the Mazda dealership "looking" for the missing cars. When they finally took me back to the used Subaru lot the original Mazda still had not been jumped and they were more than happy to show me other cars I wasn't interested which they were trying to get off of their hands. Walker Subaru in Renton - you give used care dealers the reputation they deserve! Slimy and deceiving. Stay Away!

Ha Lee is the Easy Button for buying a car

by pattischmatti on 04/25/2011

Walked into the dealership on Friday night and test drove an Imreza with Ha Lee. Great test drive - super informative. This guys knows the product! No BSing - no pushy tactics. I drove and I left. Took my husband by the next day to drive one. Alix took us on a test drive. Nice gal. Again, no BS. Sunday I called with an offer, it was accepted Filled out the paper work on line and everything was lined up when we got there. Took an hour or so to get everything signed and such. Brian in finance - also super straight shooter. These folks do their jobs and are friendly and helpful, Margarett, in reception - helpful and friendly. But Ha Lee! Wow, Ha is the easy button for buying a car! A stressless and FUN - yes FUN experience! Oh! And I love my new Subaru, too.

Great salespeople

by race_condition on 03/18/2011

It's not a typical car buying experience. You aren't "sharked" the moment you walk in. Ha Lee and Ali Plaster are great, no-pressure salespeople who want to make sure their customers are happy. I had a great experience and got a great car. Thank you!

Great car at great prices

by carrie_brads on 06/09/2010

Had a recent great buying experience from the guys at Walkers Renton. The salespeople were professional and helpful. They answered all questions patiently and let us test-drive a bunch of cars. We walked out with a car that met our expectations in no time. Thanks for the experience, guys!

Not bad if you know what you want

by AllRacing on 02/04/2009

I found a 2004 Mazda 6 s Wagon on AutoTrader at an excellent price at Walker's used lot. After verifying by phone that the car was still available I rushed to their lot with my girlfriend in tow (car was for her). The car was excellent, as advertised, and we went forward with the purchase. The salesman was very friendly, if a bit pushy. The financing process was somewhat drawn out, but not painfully so given that both of our credit historys are a bit dinged up. Our only complaint was a missing antenna, which was never addressed despite multiple phone calls. We've since gone back to look at other cars there and I've come to the conclusion that you're better off knowing what you want, and as long as you do you will be well served by this dealership. If you go there unsure of what you're looking for you will be constantly bombarded with suggested cars, even if they're not something you'd be interested in.

Safety does NOT come first..

by djexodus80 on 09/18/2008

Pretty poor Inventory of anything other than Bad Trade ins and abused looking vehicles. Vehicle we were interested in had an issue that was shortcutted by the dealer and led to a disagreement. As this involved the Brakes and we considered their repair urgent. We were made to sound unreasonable. We were told we had a great price one day. The internet department lowered the price $1000.00 the next which made us feel we were getting ripped off. I see this Internet Sales and Floor sales confused in a lot of dealerships like this with multiple sales points due to high turnover of unqualified staff coming into a tough industry that has a lot to learn from it's consumers. The only game they had was to offer $100.00 off the price of either a vehicle or maintainance which was not even half of the cost involved. After 3 months of searching for our vehicle through the dealership we eventually found our own through Craigslist with all the options and miles we wanted in the first place and didn't feel Compromised.. We reccommend not hurrying into a relationship with this dealer. Although we liked our Salesperson he was unable to further assist us and after negative attempts at understanding our concern by his manager or any of the other people that tried to convince us we should pay the lion's share of a complete rotor repair was a good deal. That we should only have work done by the good mechanic and not the bad mechanic that both work there depending on which day you show up. It was very exasperating and again left us concerned that our safety was not a priority. To find out that we were "blacklisted" after leaving the dealership after 3 hours of our time wasted in amongst other things our very own trip to Les Schwab for a proper brake inspection, and by the sales manager's poor attitude. I feel so disgruntles that continuing to write this article may lead me to say something I could be sued for....

Horrible Customer Service - BUYER BEWARE!

by jeepenator on 11/20/2007

After looking all over western washington I found a majority of used WRX's were at Walker's Renton Subaru. After the experience I had I now know why. No one wants to buy from pushy salesmen who have no idea what customer service is. After test-driving a used car (I mean heavily used) I found out he only had me drive it to compare it to a 1 year old model. Once inside and talking finances, I was pushed to buy that night. He even almost had me sign papers (as someone mentioned before) to buy the car without ever receiving a price. Once I left the dealership I received a call the next day and got into a 20 min. argument with yelling and raised voices about the incredibly high starting negotiation price. When I finally told him the deal was off he hung up before I was done talking. At one point he told me he was all about the money. In my mind it should be customer service before profit. That is how you retain customers. I will never return to their dealership again and I hope none of you do either.

fibs fibs and more fibs

by wrxfan on 11/07/2007

We bought a used WRX at Walker. The salesman told us many things about the car that we later learned were not true. The salesman told us it had never been in an accident. Actually, the car had been wrecked, and had a replacement grill, and cheap non-Subaru radiator. We've had to replace the radiator and had other problems with the car since we purchased (only 3 months) that we had to pay for. I would not purchase a used car there again.

So - So

by vikedude on 07/22/2007

OK Dealer but they did a few things I didn't like. They charged a fortune to install two accessories for my new vehicle. Also, they pummeled me over and over to buy the extended warranties. Initial salesman was very good tho.
