2008 s40 Lease ?Purchase? numbers?
by s60leaser on Fri Jul 04 10:11:14 PDT 2008
Hello there Carman and everyone Any numbers for the S40 in the CT-NY-NJ tri state area for an S40? The S40 seems to be a great compromise from the higher priced S80(an excellent car!) without sacrificing safety. May lease or buy, depending on the numbers. Likely 3 yr/36-45 miles very few options,2.4i unless the incentives etc make the AWD model a better deal. No leather, no climate... Happy 4th of July to all!

I paid $47k with every option except BLIS, and that included transportation to Staten Island, NY. Sticker on the car was $50,012. I'm sure I could have done better locally but no one was willing to search out further than local or at most the northeast region, so I did it myself. I'm in NY and I purchased from Volvo of Orange County in Santa Ana, CA. I couldn't have been happier with my choice of dealership and the service I received from them.

Oooooh! Thanks. The salesman is 3000 miles away and obviously couldn't show me anything. I live in NY and purchased in CA. He did go over a few things while I was in the car on my cell but thanks to AT&T's "wonderful" service in my area, it kept cutting us off so we decided to go over the car when I was at a better location. I guess there are things I'll have to discover on my own, the nav being one of them. I also don't understand the best settings for the dynaudio system.

Best buying experience for me. Every option but BLIS. I would have liked the retractable mirrors but I can live without them. Great deal and I was so glad to find an awesome salesman (Charles Mechura) at Volvo of Orange County in Santa Ana, CA that it made everything worth it to me. Celestial Blue/Calcite Cream interior. Had it shipped to Staten Island, NY in perfect condition, no damage, everything works, and I'm thrilled. I'd deal with these guys again in a heartbeat. Purchased and bought a 7yr warranty too. I truly tried to deal with a few places in nearby NJ and no one wanted to go the distance to find what I wanted fully loaded. They kept trying to talk me out of packages that I knew I wanted. I didn't want to settle so I started searching the internet for what I wanted. So glad I did.
Lease Deal - Comments?
by jim_thomas on Wed May 21 18:56:15 PDT 2008
Hi, Here is my initial offer from a dealer in Update NY for a 24 month lease on a base Black S80 3.2 with the climate package. $4,700 down, $399 / month. This is +$20 / month over the base offer on the Volvo website for the Climate Package. The down payment consists of: First Payment $399.98 Taxes $1027.93 Dealer Fees $67.50 Acquisition Fee $895.00 Cap Reduction $2309.59 My take is regardless of selling price, rv, lease rate factor, etc., there should be an amount to target as total outlay. Is $13,877 a good number over 24 months (~$578 / month)? Thanks...
TFCU Lease
by idranet on Tue Apr 22 18:29:11 PDT 2008
Hi. I am in NY (on LI) and leased an S80 in Huntington in March. It is financed through TFCU. Is it still possible to get the $500 you mentioned? Or am I completely out of luck? What do I need to do? I don't currently have an account with TFCU, just the lease. Thanks for any info you can offer.
