Re: The best deal on 2007 XC90s! [cuned]

>Would you please tell us which local dealer that you bought your XC90? Thank you in advance. We purchased our XC90 @ Smythe Volvo in San Jose, CA. Our trip to Europe was great! We stopped over in Paris before heading out to pick up our car in Sweden. It was coincidence that it was Bastille Day when were in France and the Gothia Cup in Gothenburg - so it was happening!
Volvo S40 2.4i Sale
by huckleberry12 on Thu Jul 20 23:10:30 PDT 2006
Putnam Volvo in Burlingame, CA was running an ad in Sunday's SF Chronicle Car section for a one day sale on the S40 2.4i with metallic paint, t-tech, automatic and select package for $21,998 + taxes/fees. They had 5 in stock. Smythe Volvo in San Jose, CA had a similar ad for $22,000 + tax/fees, but they had at least 20 in stock. Sounds like a great deal if you can still get it. I wouldn't be surprised if they had the deal again this weekend.
Re: Base XC90 pricing [enginone]

We bought the car on 2/25/06. The dealer went to $30,841 (effectivly split the difference with us) on a base white 2.5T FWD (before taxes and fees). Also included the cargo cover as a perk. Very pleased with the buying experience and our salesman at Smythe Volvo in San Jose.
Base XC90 pricing
by enginone on Mon Feb 20 20:56:10 PST 2006
Have talked with a dealer in San Jose who has offered a base white 2.5T, FWD at $31,688 (newspaper ad, no haggling yet on my part). Is this a good deal given the other posts about $6-7k discounts? Should I be able to get closer to $30k? Might the discount be lower here due to the base model? I'm fine with the base model, but need help figuring out if some of the other options are worth the extra dollars? It seems the prices jump rapidly to $35-$37k by adding premium, versatility, metallic paint. Hard for me to justify when the base car is so nice. AWD is a consideration, but again unsure of the cost/benefit trade for my needs (occasional trip into snow, previous good luck w/FWD and chains). If I did opt for base 2.5T as above w/AWD, what should I pay in the SF bay area? Thanks for the help.
