Re: BOUGHT 2008 GTI [goose]

You should enjoy the GTI a great deal more than the Civic. I have had no major problems with my GTI and I am now at just over 13,000 miles. I have developed a few minor squeaks but I have yet to experience a silent car after 10K miles (Acura, BMW, Mitsubishi, Nissan and Mazdas in my past). From reading at another site the most heard complaints have been the PCV valve and the Diverter Valve but that seems to be more of an issue for 'chipped' cars. A very few have had issues with the fuel pump. The DSG service is pricey and these cars do have a timing belt, not a chain. I am setting aside some money for those two services. Plus you do have synthetic oil, but oil changes are at 5K to 10k and they haven't been too bad price wise. This has been the best car I've owned so far. As for the mud guards let me know when you find a good after market source for those I can't seem to find them.

Broused this thread - great that you're providing this info to all us "tire kickers". A big thanks in advance. Can you provide me the money factor and residual on a 2006 V-10 TDI Touareg 10K miles per year for 2 years in WA state? Kipa

22,716 + 500 = 23,216, so go for 23,000 and call it good. Double check your research though. The full tank of gas charge is BS, since they likely use middle grade anyway. I would use the Internet to get quotes from a couple of other local dealerships, your dealership sounds like one of those cheapskate places that would be a pain to deal with down the road.
March Lease Deals

Hey Car_man, Can you tell me the cost factor and residual I am likely to get in the Seattle, WA area at this time for the following:VW GTI 4 door with auto, navigation, leather. I am interested in a 36 month lease with no down and 15,000 miles per year. Additionally, since this is my first foray into leasing would you explain how the payment is calculated in relationship to the cost factor. Finally, and I am not quite sure I've worded this correctly, are there any special lease cash incentives being offered by VW at this time. Thanks, Kam
4 Door DSG Pkg 2 june GTI lease
by vdar on Sun Jun 10 23:59:26 PDT 2007
Hi everyone, Just wanted to share my deal with you as my way of saying thanks for all the people who previously posted info and made my research and negotiating so much easier! I signed my GTI lease in the Seattle area last Friday... Car Details: 2007 VW GTI, 4 door, DSG, Pkg 2, 18" Hufs, iPod adapter, mats MSRP $28,5xx Invoice: $26,998 (after regional costs added) Selling price: $27,100 + ttl 3 year, 10K miles/yr lease: $381/mo (including 9.2% sales tax) with $2K total out of pocket at signing ($1,2xx down, $235 for registration, license, title etc) Calculated with .00175 MF and 58% residual. Apologies for not having a more detailed breakdown of all the costs, but I don't have the paperwork with me at the moment. I am pretty happy with this deal because the 4 door pkg 2 cars appear to be hot property in the Seattle area and I had some difficulty even finding one to buy! Thanks again, and good luck to those of you still looking!
