Anyone in TX here bought this car? I have talked to lot of dealers here and they're acting as if this is the best thing on earth and are not willing to budge a dollar off MSRP.I test drove the car and I liked it but then is it worth payin MSRP, which is already 4-5K profit for them? Also, i;ve been thinking if i should just probably wait it out and see how the reviews come out. Definitely the car is gonna get cheaper in some months' time. Your thoughta on that? Anyone have suggestions about any good dealers? And has anyone bought the car below MSRP? Thanks a bunch. Anywhere in houston, dallas, austin, san antonio would do.
Considering a Jetta TDI
by tacomaboy on Wed Apr 12 09:35:51 PDT 2006
I am in Austin, TX, and am looking at an 06 Jetta TDI in black or red with Package 2 and Rear air bags to replace my S2000. Time to grow up some I guess. It looks like I should not expect to pay the 25,700 or so MSRP, so, what should I expect? I am not afraid to haggle or walk if need be, as I have another vehicle, and dont NEED to pay extra money to get one ASAP. But am I going to have to pay some sort of premium to get into a diesel? Any tips here? Thanks!
Good deal?

2006 Silver TDI with Pkg2/XM and rear airbags. $25,400 including $500 owner loyalty. They made a lousy offer on my 1998 Passat, but will sell the car at that price without the trade. It's ~ $1K below TMV for my area (Austin, TX).
re: loan length

I've heard from various sources that low rate dealer financing tends to be restrictive, often including prepayment penalties, etc. So paying off a 60-month loan early might not be so easy. I'll try to pry the details out of the VW salesman.
1.9% financing question
by bbaldwin1 on Thu Jul 24 10:18:37 PDT 2003
I'm seriously considering buying a GLS sedan, 1.8T manual, loaded (leather, monsoon, ESP). I see that VW is offering 1.9% financing at 60 months, but doesn't anyone know about rates for shorter-term loans? I'd prefer 48 months max. I can get 3.99%/48 mos. elsewhere, but if I can get 1.9% (or close) at 48 mos. from VW, obviously I'd go that way. Thanks for any info on this.

Can anybody help me telling what should be a good price for VW Passat GLX (tiptronic 5 speed Automatic OD)with CD player/changer. How much total (including destination charges etc)one should pay for this car in Austin, TX. How much one should pay over the invoice price? I will very much appreciate your quick response on this. Thanks in advance. Pranay
