The money factor is not advertized. They tell me that the 349 a month for a wagon advertized on the web is already discounted. What are the incentives that you list in your lease ? Thank y ou.

If you're not in the area, here's my advice - Just be stern, strong-willed and patient. They started me at 340 per month and taxes and fees down. They also said they had to charge extra because they didn't have my car on the lot. I told them I didn't want anything down, so they removed it. (They keep going back and forth to their manager - it's mostly for show! I used to never bargain like this for cars and probably got fleeced a few times, but this time I went in with a plan.) They kept saying $340 was all they could do, so I pulled out my research. I had looked earlier in the day and found out that other dealers in the area had the Passat in the color I wanted - one dealer had 7! So, I basically said, "Tell me why I should pay you extra for the car, when I can go to the other dealers and buy it straight?" Immediately, they went down to $325. They kept trying to meet in the middle. This is where you have to be patient and willing to leave. I just kept waiting them out and saying that I didn't want to pay extra for the color, etc. etc. Eventually, after many trips, they pulled the "If I can get you this price will you sign tonight?" I said sure and the rest is history. With your trade, you should get $2000 in incentives so you should do fine. I traded in a car, so that helped, but the $2000 is a great deal. My Father-in-law just did better than me a day later on Long Island. He got the same car, with the all-weather mats, for $309 nothing down or out of pocket. He was turning in a Jetta as well. The dealer took one payment and he had to pay the other. So, I think you're in good shape. Just be strong, persistent and willing to leave. Have another dealer as a backup plan. Good Luck!

Re: 2006 Passat 3.6L [oxx93]: by smass on Tue Aug 15 16:55:14 PDT 2006; I just test drove a 2006 3.6L AWD sedan with cold weather. Sticker is $32.6k - they offered it to me for $26.6k. Seemed like a good deal. Car drove nice. I didn't like the fact that it had only partially power seats and no home- link as well as no automatic climate control. Also the gas mileage is 18/26 - probably average 20 in mixed driving - and it requires premium fuel. The AWD would be great if I was a skier - but living in Albany, NY I have had front wheel drive cars for 20 years and never been close to being stuck. I think I am going to go with a 2007 Camry XLE with V6. Similar power, better interior, better gas mileage, regular fuel. All the toys (including bluetooth for my cell). I can get one for about $600 over invoice which would bring it in at the same price as the Passat. I really wanted to like the Passat - its a lot of car for the money - but I think the Camry is the better deal...especially with $4 gallon gas on the horizon...

Too late Lucky: by chrisbgood on Mon Sep 06 19:55:07 PDT 2004; you'd have to pry it from my wifes hands (and she'd be dead before she'd let it go). We bought it at the before stated price -- Capital Cities in the Albany NY area. Too good a deal on a brand new GLX wagon. (w/4motion!)

2001 Rumors?: by pet3 on Thu Jun 08 21:31:10 PDT 2000; I'm planning a Passat purchase in the next few months is there any advance speculation as to what changes or additions will be made for the 2001 models? Any opinions reguarding 4cyl. v. V6. I live in Western MA., does anyone know of a $500 over invoice dealer nearby? Albany,NY. dealers ? Thanks in advance.
