Trouble with TDI?: by kc1435 on Tue Jul 17 08:52:38 PDT 2007; I recently purchased a new 2006 special edition TDI in Beaverton, OR. Within an hour of driving the car home, it started to have a strange "hammering" sound coming from under the car. Two days later, it started to produce a horrible smell (as though the clutch was burning) and started smoking. I had it towed to the dealer and after a week, they still haven't even looked at it. Has anyone else had a similar experience, or have any advice? Thanks
