thoughts on this deal?

Just received the following from my VW dealer. This is for a 2009 FWD SE, Alpine Gray + sunroof + floormats. (I am in North Carolina.) MSRP $29,174.00 Invoice $27,213.00 (The invoice on the car is $27,006.00 edmunds does not account for the $25.00 port prep, and $182.00 Interest Reserve that the dealer pays) Internet Sale price $26,563.00 $661.00 saving below Edmunds TMV of $27,224.00 Tax 3% $ 796.89 Admin $ 389.00 Tag $ 80.00 Total Out the Door $27,828.89 Based on earlier appends, I think maybe another 3-500 less would be good, but availability of Tigs seems to be limited now. Thanks for your thoughts. --travis
Dealer Incentives on TDI Sportwagon?
by getwired on Sat Jun 13 12:07:38 PDT 2009
If people are reporting paying under invoice for a TDI Sportwagon, there must be a dealer incentive. Anyone know how much? I'm guessing about $1000. Thoughts?
Jetta SportWagen TDI Incentives?
by getwired on Wed Jun 10 06:22:16 PDT 2009
My dealer is offering to sell me a TDI Sportwagen for invoice. Asside from dealer holdback, are there any incentives that I am unaware of that I might be missing out on. This would be a special order, not vehicle on the lot or dealer transfer.

Thanks, guys, for the quick replies. T ventured into the city taday to look at both cars in person. According to the dealer's web site, they had in stock either of the two in a configuration I wanted. Web sites and parking lots are two different things. Only had manual trannies in the TDI. I gotta tell you, that CC in the Shadow Blue Metallic is one of the best looking cars on the road. They probably lost a sale, when they would not tell me the price. Kept wanting to know what I would give to trade my Infiniti in today. I told him I was not the salesman. He should be making offers. He thought I was joking, as I showed him a sub-6 second 0-60 as I left his lot. My rice burner was not part of the equasion, but he would not listen. Still looking, but not there.
Lease vs Buy
by whitexaf on Thu Jun 04 20:58:18 PDT 2009
Does anybody buy cars any more? All this lease discussion is interesting, but of no help to me. For example, when folks state a "price" in their discussion about leasing, can anybody actually buy at that "price", or is that a deal factor in the lease agreement. If I go in and offer $5K US below MSRP, will the dealer collapse in laughter, or is that a reasonable start to negotiate from? Buying in central NC if it matters. Trying to decide between a CC for family cruiser and a Sportwagen TDI for my DD. I don't want to steal a car, but I don't want the dealer to throw a big party on my dime, either. ;)
Re: Jetta SEL Question [monkey10018]
by jettagal on Fri Apr 24 06:59:10 PDT 2009
I need a little bit of negotiaton help from you guys. I currently drive a 2006 Jetta 2.5 w/package 1, that MSRP'ed then for 23,055. I leased for 36mos, 12k/yr and no money down and everything included in the monthly lease for 260. That was in NC. Now I moved to MD and am looking at the 2009 SE w/automatic with MSRP for 21,195 and I am getting quotes of 330-340 per month, which makes no sense to me. Unfortunately I am time restricted as I just had a baby and I don't want to drag him to the dealer for hours to negotiate. I see people here posting and getting SE leases for 245-250, which was my budget. Any ideas or maybe dealer suggestions in MD? Thanks!
