Re: Beware Re: Bought a (new) '09 Jetta TDI [longo2]
by jswtdifan on Wed Nov 18 09:08:56 PST 2009
"stripped down version of it's former self"; "don't think they really gave a hoot" - These are the comments that got my attention and disapproval. While the dimensions of the Versa and others are similar (excepting cargo of the JSW), I could not see considering any of those cars as comparable to the JSW TDI. Did I mention heated front seats and mirrors; roof racks; or virtually zero depreciation of the TDI? As for getting out of that crowd, I think that's a mistake. VW needs a vehicle that leads the pack of these similarly sized cars (Polo is not a substitute here). The later posts and comments about the NMS are good comments - this is a new opportunity for VW to compete with the Accords, etc (between the Jetta and CC - and replacing Passat which failed in that mission). See some NMS photos at this link: http://www.caranddriver.com/news/car/09q1/2011_2012_vw_passat_replacement_new_mi- d-size_sedan_nms_-car_news/gallery

Lease taxing method depends on your state of residence...
2-door, MT, 12K mi/yr, 39 month lease figures (NYC)?
by mkvigti on Wed Nov 04 12:59:35 PST 2009
Greetings all, I'm hoping someone can help me with this. VW's sign then drive promo got me interested in leasing a GTI. No money down, no security deposit and first month's payment I understand - what additional fees will I need to anticipate? Will I need to pay taxes up front or with each payment? What gets taxed exactly? The lease rate on a base GTI (MSRP on base is $23,290, I think, Invoice $21,724) is $369/mo. The MSRP for the configuration I want (2-door, MT, 18" Detroit, Dynaudio, Sunroof & Xenons) is $27,305, invoice is $25,358. Could someone please tell me how much I should expect to pay on a lease for the above configuration, how taxes are calculated on leases and what other fees I need to consider. Thank you very much.
Lease Figures for November 2010

Anyone have the November 2010 MF and Resid for the VW CC Sport 12K mi/year 36 months Will there still be lease cash available? My understanding as well is that there is sign and drive for November. The numbers I got for October were excellent, but I am not in a position to take acquisition until next week. I was $359/mo INCLUDING (PA 9%) lease tax, 36 months, 12K/mi per year, with $1,100 due at signing TOTAL. Sale price of car: $25,156 less lease cash. My feeling this was VERY good esp. because lease was advertised for 10K/mi per year and with $3,299 due at signing. I thought the car was going to price closer to $400. I am not in a position to purchase until after next week, so I am hoping numbers will be comparable for November (fingers crossed). Anyone???

I leased my Jetta SE last Nov from Young VW in Easton, PA, which may not be too far from you. I forget the final price but my lease is $300/month. I'm actually thinking of selling mine. I've only got 7000 mi on it and the lease buyout is around $18,000. That puts me at about a grand under blue book.

Kris... bravo. can you give me the name and location of the Chicago dealership and sales man. Here in MI the dealerships are Omnipotent and are not willing to sell any of their stock at below MSRP, not even for the options. I can't condone to such behavior and will not buy from such dealers. It's insane how they claim the car is SO HOT that they will just sit on it, even the new 2010 -they will take your holding payment without giving you a price for the car. WOW! Guess they must be making tons of cash.... thanks Shai
