09 Jetta SE w/ Southeastern package

We just bought a 09 SE Jetta with what the dealer here in Miami,FL called the Southeastern package (17' inch rims,ipod adapter,Bluetooth,6 disc cd changer) for $21,500, didnt want to budge much in final sales price, seems to be a few 100 under Invoice. Was this a decent deal? I love the car though!

Question- If the vehicle is leased by a local bank, who gets the credit? The user is the person who leases vehicle and should not be the bank. Or is the credit lost?

$440 per month seems high. Here in South Fl, I was able to lease TDI 6speed manual, sun roof, ipod adapter and 17 inch wheels for $345 month plus tx for a 36 mos lease (financed by US bank). Car MSRP was $24,650. The lease is for 15K miles a year. Cash out the door which included first payment was $585. It took about an hour and some negotiation. This in late October, 2008, imagine now one can probably do better.

Eight hundred is impressive. I purchased a 6M sedan. On my second tank of gas and it looks like I will get about 525. Currently have 800 miles total on speedo. IN South Fliorida and that is most highway mileage and very frequent use of the AC. What is your secret besides being light on the accelerator?. The car is a blast to drive. Looking to more miles from the next fill up. Thanks for the feedback.
New VW leaser

Hi, I am in Miami, FL and planning to lease a VW Jetta, either S or SE , in the next week. First question: other than the sunroof and V-tex seats, is there a real difference between the two model's? Also, the numbers they brought back to me were around $300 p. (39m, 12K p/y) for the S and about $20 more ($320) for the SE. I want to know if this is a good deal or am I getting ripped off. The VW website shows the S at $269 p/m + tax, tag, dealer fees etc. Can I ask them to waive the dealer fees? Basically I want to know if $300 for this lease is a good deal or should i walk away?

This past weekend I lease a manual TDI with optional equipment 36 mos, 15k miles for about $30 less per month than VW's rate. Down payment was $550. Lease is carried by a local branch bank. It may be that VW rates are more competitive with the non-TDI models. For TDI their money factor is too high. Although my lease is 3 mos. less than VW's program I did get 3000 extra miles a year from the standard VW lease. Lesson here is inquire about local bank financing as an option.
