My Passat wagon komfort lease deal
by cutbacklarry on Thu May 29 13:44:50 PDT 2008
Hi everyone, Just want to let people know my deal. I just purchased a new 2008 Passat Komfort Wagon, 325 + tax 36 months 12,000 miles Drive off - first month down (Gross cap cost 26394) I'm pretty happy with that. This was from Livingston VW, Woodland Hills CA. I was offered 319 + tax, first month down in an email and they offered to get me any color in 24-48 hours. (Other dealers were offering me 375, 395, 442!!) So I went to the dealer and I picked a silver komfort wagon which happened to be in San Diego. When it came to manager approval, he flatly refused, saying I could have the white komfort on the lot, but he wanted $10 a month more to get the one from San Diego etc. etc. Sounded like a tactic to get more money, so we haggled and settled on an extra 6 bucks. No big deal considering the money factor is so low and I was getting the car I wanted.
08 Passat Wagon Lux or Komfort
by gluz on Fri May 02 21:46:01 PDT 2008
Hello, I currently lease 06 Passat Sedan 2.0T with every possible option. My overall residual(payments plus real residual) is 22K plus change and mileage is pretty low-18K which makes me 6K under my annual 12K mileage. The lease is over in over a year, in June of 2009. I want to get an 08 Wagon, maybe with lesser options for about the same lease rate monthly-391 including 8.25 CA tax. What should I expect my conversation with the internet manager to be like? Will all of it be about me being upside down on my lease and them wanting to roll my existing lease remainder into the new lease? Any suggestions are appreciated. Thank you.
Re: Rabbit 2Dr [tdibob]

I've known I wanted a Rabbit for a while, and I finally went with my dad to McKenna VW in Norwalk, CA to talk prices and check out the inventory. They had a huge selection and they had the options I wanted in EVERY color (2 door, MT, armrest) so I'm getting the United Gray which just happens to have gorilla mats! I was quoted $15,895 plus TT&L. I told him I need to sleep on it, but it's the price I was hoping for. I just need to call him and let him know that I want the Goal Anthracite wheels and it will be exactly what I want. :shades: I'm so excited! I won't be able to sleep tonight!
45,000 mile LUX deal with no down and no loyalty cash?
by jaxs1 on Mon Apr 14 19:55:49 PDT 2008
What range of payments should I expect for 3 years, 45K miles in CA if I don't already own a VW and can't get the "loyalty cash" assuming I can get it for around invoice and I'm not putting any cash down? Are the same kind of deals available for both sedan and wagon?
Re: This is MY lease for VW 2008 passat Komfort [reducedpayment]
by kyfdx on Sun Mar 16 07:08:36 PDT 2008
A lot of dealers try to add in additional fees, after you've negotiated a price.. It's just a tactic to get you to pay more for the car.. The destination fee is part of the price of the car.. It's on the sticker, and on their invoice... Trying to add it after the price has been negotiated is no different than trying to add an extra $1000 for the sunroof (that's on the sticker and invoice, too, right?). The only legitimate fees are: acquisition fees on leases... these go to the bank.. they can be rolled into the lease payment, though.. Government fees: Title, license, tire tax, etc.. Most dealers also add some sort of document fee.. ostensibly for doing the paperwork (like they could sell cars without doing the paperwork?). These are mostly BS, also, but I don't squawk much if it's under $100, and nothing else weird is showing up. CA restricts doc fees to $55, Ohio $250, NY $45 (I think)... GA and FL are famous for the $399-$699 doc fee.. Not sure how that got started.. Manual tranny would be great... The only way for me to get one anymore, is to buy a car my wife wouldn't drive, anyway... :(
