2010 Jetta TDI sedan Huntsville, AL
by rlw1953 on Mon Oct 12 16:34:42 PDT 2009
I purchased my Jetta TDI 9/29/09 from the dealer in Huntsville, AL. To get your best deal, run the Edmunds True Market Value price report to see what others are paying in your area. I found this tool to be really helpful, thank you Edmunds! I initially had to order the car and made the dealer an offer of approx $600 over Edmunds dealer invoice with a 3-month delivery time. We made a deal at $500 under MSRP. In the mean time a TDI arrived at the dealer that was close to the one I ordered. We re-negotiated and I bought it. The MSRP is $28,135 for 2010 Jetta TDI automatic, blue graphite metallic, beige v-tex interior, options are 3FE power sunroof, JTI Southern Kit, PJI 17" avignon alloy wheels, PNI Navigation System + MDI. I paid $27,435, which is $700 under MSRP (or $1,069 above Edmunds dealer invoice). $30,511 out the door including tax, title, doc fee and extended warranty. I am happy with my deal and love the car, which I intend to run until it turns to dust. My only complaint is that the Nav unit CD to load the maps has not yet arrived, but it is "in the mail." :)

Gatorfan, your post puts to bed a lot of speculation and confusion about the "when" for the 2010 Jettas. The C4C program should put VW out of stock, but it seems that the Ford Focus, and Toyota Corolla are the 2 top favorites of the C4C shoppers and VW Jetta TDI doesn't make it in the top 10 cars being sold to this market...(probably because the VW lots are bare.) I noticed Fitzmall moving up the TDI prices about a month ago, and also couldn't help noticing that the people on this forum are seriously PO'ed about it. Hasn't stopped them from selling out of stock, but it does seem like really poor PR for future $ales. (I'm waiting to see the all new 2011Jetta TDI) Our only hope for some TDI price break is that other car builders can figure out the emissions secrets and give VW some competition soon. I have read posts from Subaru owners complaining that they want the TDI engine, but not in a VW thanks, Ford has the popular diesel Focus all over the planet except North America, Honda is sitting on a great 2.2 ltr diesel in an Accord that just missed the cut on emissions that would be an instant hit with Honda fans. Rumor has it that Hyundai is working on a TDI type engine for their Elantra. Diesel should be the 50 mpg 'alternative' fuel that will get us through the next few years of trial and error Hybrids (see Chevy Volt) and other oddball, underpowered overpriced experiments. Right now my only sensible option is to buy a used 2006 Jetta TDI and run it until the market gives me some options. (Til then I will have to be happy with my 2 diesel tractors.)
WELL a lot has happened

some of the people on thee forums are so mean, I fel bad for them, they must live such a depressie life. they have to know it all, be able to tell al people what to do or they get mea and post mean posts that are not even acurate. anyway enough of time to those posers. the honda is gone. what a relief. I felt like I was gettng nto a body cast everytime I got in the car. I have never felt so good about something. they went crazy over it, even know thei lot is full of them now, gas is $2/gal, not the $4 it was when I purchased it and could not find a Fit Sport. I got the TDI JSW too. Several offers but I ent with the guy in PA. he is all around these forums and probably does not even have to walk on his lot. Most people fly on way to him and drive the car back but PA is to ar (right now I am just not up for that so he is having a trucker rop it off (after it passes my inspection) and I hope it all goes OK.. It was a long haul because I did have sspecific wants and I hit tons o the people I described at the start of this post. thos people ae so funny. You know they are so pissed they must have either got s burned or just unhappy. it took some time. A lot o questions, a lot of pictures (at least requesting them), but now I have to figure out how to get the money to him. he has never had a customer do it this way so he ays I need to figure out how to get the money to him. I will wire it but I stil have to be careful even know he is known. if there is a problem, he is in PA, I am in Sal;t Lake City, so guess who has to go to who? anyway, it is a dark blue, 17"wheels with the ...I forgot the name of the tire. Moon roof, gorilla mats (a must and he hought that was so odd even know carpet mats do not come standard anymore?!) Take Care. I have no idea what is happening in 2010 but you hear all kinds of stuff. Good luck to the serious and nice shoppers. I even ran into hosts on here who ripped of my first Discussion s fast for some strange reason. it takes all kinds. I hope n a few months I have some odd reports to give I would not ever get close to Strong VW in Salt Lake City. They are game players and one day one guy is the GM, the next day another guy is the GM, they play games to get more sales. somebody told me they do that to test you up against...I had no idea what he was talking about. Peace and God's Blessings to al of you.

Re: 06.5 "Special Edition" Jetta TDI [kyfdx]
by esteeze on Fri Apr 27 12:28:45 PDT 2007
Sounds nice.... The TDIs come pretty well equipped, right? Auto or stick? Thanks! It has the 6-speed DSG/auto transmission, which are somewhat unique. The "Special Edition" comes more or less fully loaded, with the following noteable exceptions: - No leather seats (rather, a vinyl-like material... but still has heated driver and passenger seats) - No power seats - No navigation system (I didn't really care about those features anyway.) ... just about everything else, though. (power sunroof, Sirius satellite radio, telescoping steering wheel... with audio controls, multi-function display)
