Beware of details

by Hullinone on 03/27/2018

I bought a new 2018 E400 coupe. The car was not detailed well at delivery, bad. The delivery was rushed The dealer did not bother to submit my paper work to my DMV - lied about doing it. Resulted in a ticket, fine and mark on my record. It is 2 months later and I have no tag. I called 4 times over 2 months and was told the paper work had been sent in and Maryland just is slow. As of today the dealer had not submitted the paper work. I got a hold on my record and a ticket for an expired temp tag. A long string of untruths.

Lovely Experience

by WallStBest on 03/12/2018

My family was greeted warmly by receptionist. We were directed to where we could find the GLC. Once we looked we wanted a test drive. Nan Wong, Sales Manager, was cordial and put my family in the hands of Kenneth Hahm. He is the best sales rep ever. Friendly, patient, knowledgeable, and he gave us a good deal. We could not ask for more. We brought this car for my sweetheart. She is delighted. My next car I will buy from Ken as well. We were in town from Greenwich, CT and I would come back to VA to be serviced by Ken in the future when I am ready for my car. 5 star experience. Thank you Ken Hahm and Nan Wong. The experience has won over a Lexus loyalist from another state.

This was the worst car buying experience I've ever Had!!!!

by deecm22 on 05/01/2016

I have bought a lot of cars and I must say that this was the worst experience I have ever had. Found a car that I was interested in buying only to have two of their sales man try to rob me on my trade it. I was trading a 2011 Yukon Denali with ~96k miles. These Suv's are rock solid and so was mine as I had kept it up. Minus needing a wash and an interior vacuum the car was in great condition. Every dealer that has appraised this SUV understood the value of the vehicle and how popular it is when it comes to resell. I'm not sure what happened that made them offer me $19,500 for my trade but I honestly felt insulted. When I mentioned that my SUV was worth at least $24,500 they all but laughed at me and ultimately told me to my face that its not worth that much to them. I'm sure my SUV will still be running great when the 2009 Mercedes Benz S550 is dead and buried in junk yard heaven. If you ask me, either Mercedes Benz of Tysons is purposely trying to rip off honest hard working consumers or they are letting amateurs perform their appraisals. Needless to say I did not and will never as long as I live buy anything from this dealership. Overall they seemed to be nice people minus the older gentleman that make slick/snide remarks that I chose to ignore. Long story short I didn't buy they car and ended up going to a lexus dealer and getting a very nice Lexus LS460. And the part you have all been waiting for....drum roll..... they gave me $25,1000 for my trade. :-) I didn't have to ask for more money as I felt that this was a fair deal. The moral to this story is that there are still some honest and fair car dealerships. Please read and take these reviews very serious. I ignored their reviews on google and gave them a shot because they had a car that I really wanted but in the end I wasted my time driving all the way from MD to Tysons on three occasions. Okay, I'm done writing now as I feel that I have done my due diligence is letting you know how my experience went when visiting this dealer. Thanks to Pfez and Joe I'm about to go and enjoy my new Lexus which has 15k less miles than the 2009 s550 I was looking at and that has a transmission that doesn't feel sluggish. Save yourself some time and trouble go somewhere else. These folks are not serious about selling cars. At least these two guys and their 10 year old appraiser were not. Best regards, C. McCoy

Outstanding Customer Service

by amervg on 10/06/2014

October 3, 2014 To Whom It May Concern, This letter is to express my sincere appreciation for the outstanding customer service I received from your employee, Charles Ellis. To me outstanding customer service is a good listener, someone who takes the time to identify and anticipate my needs, someone who makes me feel important and appreciated, someone who gives more than is expected and someone who follows up with me regularly to see how things are going. Charles Ellis did all of these things and more. He went above and beyond in taking care of all of my needs. If I ever buy a car again, or know someone who is interested in buying a car, I will definitely have them deal with Charles. It is not often that I write letters of appreciation but felt the need to let you know what a positive experience I had. With many thanks, E McKay

totally ignored

by shubhans on 07/20/2014

I made an appointment for test drive, the sales person ignored me for 15 minutes and then palmed me off to another person. They could not find the car I wanted and told me I would need to pay extra to get the model and color I was looking for. Tried to quote price that was very high. Would never visit these people again.

Exceptional Service

by waledsayd on 02/28/2014

Ayman E.’s communication style was great throughout the leasing process which reflects a great deal of professionalism; he always listened and understood the main ideas as well as the specifics of a particular situation. He is committed and has a sincere desire to solve any problems that we might have; he was always very flexible and accommodate us at all times. It is the best experience that I have ever had in leasing a car. Ayman E.’s met and exceeded our expectations. Thank you Ayman.

Ayman E., Internet Sales Manager

by Me1955 on 02/25/2014

It was a great transaction. I got there late (an hour before closing on Sunday) and Ayman was very patient and I never felt pressured to make a decision. My wife got there 5 minutes before closing and he explained everything again, very graciously. It was a pleasure dealing with him.

Buyer beware

by garyatvartac on 11/04/2013

I bought a slightly used BMW from this car dealership. The car has leaked oil from the first day that I owned it. The repair bills have put me into thousands of dollars. Do yourself a favor and buy an Acura.

NEVER again would I buy here

by shackride on 07/12/2012

Found the vehicle I wanted online and the price was reasonable so I inquired. I scheduled an appt and although the sales person knew nothing about the vehicle I was given the keys to test drive. I liked the vehicle and asked for a trade-in appraisal. Of course, they low balled the offer but I opted to buy the vehicle anyway. So then here comes the mountain of paperwork with a catch. I am told I must complete a credit application although I told the salesman I was paying cash. He explained I must anyway as it was a dealership requirement. I was very uncomfortable with this but completed the form. Of course, with no sales ability the vehicle sells itself but still have to pay all the usual processing fees. So I schedule the pickup on Saturday morning and arrive promptly at 9am and no one there to assist as the salesmen called in sick and no one can find the paperwork and the vehicle is not ready. Over an hour later I finally get my vehicle with an apology from the sales manager. It gets worse...now I am receiving credit responses from lending institutions claiming I applied for a loan from the dealership. So this dealership has the nerve to send my credit application to lenders when I paid cash! Shame on you HBL!! Stay clear of this shady dealer!!!

Look No Further

by 4dubins on 03/04/2012

Purchasing a car has never been high on my list of things to do. I always approach it with a degree of avoidance, often delaying a purchase because of my concern about the process and the stress it causes. These concerns were fully allayed by my recent experience at Mercedes Benz of Tyson’s. My wife and I arrived at the dealership with a general idea about what we wanted. We met the salesperson and manager and discussed the car. They both shared their thoughts about cars, options and prices. Instead of pushing us toward more, they objectively discussed the merits of each package/option. We had quiet time to process the information and never felt stressed. On the contrary, our experience was relaxing. They were more guides then sales people and ultimately allowed my wife and I to comfortably make a decision as to what we wanted. The overall tone of the dealership was also as we described. Staff was friendly and supportive. I met customers who were shopping for new as well as repeat sales. We shared information and enjoyed the pros and cons of the vehicles we were each focusing on. This translated to driving through the lot, as customers were courteous and chivalrous. I began to wonder if I was still in the high pressure DC area. The entire dealership was clean and inviting. Even the service area was immaculate. Customers receiving services seemed positive and some of them stopped to talk with us as we walked through. Our service manager was introduced to us and we then walked the area by ourselves. Finally, I should point out that the financing process was equally stress free. Additional options were described without pressure. The final part of the sale took minutes and the individual we worked with was as positive and helpful as the rest of the staff. I’ve heard concerns about other dealerships in Northern Virginia and experienced the stress and game playing that they use as part of their business. Our experience at this dealership was positive and actually enjoyable. We are considering the purchase of another vehicle for my wife in the next few months and I can assure you there won’t be a question that we’ll be back here. We’re actually looking forward to working with the staff again. What an amazing experience.

Unexpected Outcome

by asides1 on 11/07/2011

I must say my experience with Mercedes-Benz of Tysons Corner was outstanding. My Internet Salesman, Ayman Elasady, went over and above my expectations. I honestly did not expect to leave there with a car but I did. Mr. Elasady is definitely a man of his word. This is the most plesant experience I have EVER encountered when purchasing a new car. I will definitely send others to Mr. Elasady.

Love at first sight!

by m_taylor on 10/25/2011

Absolutely in love with my GL450, Great deal from MB of Tyson Conner, VA. Mr. Ayman Elasady gave us great support in making this deal happen. My GL is Black with impeccable styling. For 2012 the LED DRL's are standard and they really make the GL stand out. Great head turning ability as I drive on the highway. The V8 under the hood really make this thing move, and the sounds great. Not really happy with future tire selection for the 19" inch rims, but I am satisfied with current tires. The Continentals do not get good ratings online for snow traction I will find out this winter. Cornering on winding back roads at speeds of 45-60 mph great, handles like C class sports model. No real body sway noted. Command center still is outdated electronics is not MB's thing. I typically use the Mbrace iphone app to search for address, and destinations to send to the GL's Command GPS system much quicker than trying to enter by voice or manually. But overall still in love. The backup camera upgrade, & blind slide assist. are must haves. I have parked the GL in some very tight spots on the Mall in downtown DC, without the camera I would not have attempted. But with the camera parking was a breeze. The Honeymoon has only lasted 1,500 miles so far so good. I looked at the Lexus GX460, LX 570, Audi Q7, Infiniti QX56, and Ford Expedition King Ranch Edition. For my money this American Made SUV has room for 7 adult (Even in the 3rd row, I am 6'1" and very comfortable back there) and power to match. I will report on the towing capabilities later this spring 2012.

Don't go there

by mbnubee on 08/26/2010

Talked with salesman 1 on the phone then went to the dealer, saleman 1 was supposedly with another customer, we were there for over an hour, I find it hard to believe that he was still tied up. Given salesman 2, who pretended to know nothing about the conversation with salesman 1. Drove car, and liked it except it smelled really badly of chemicals (not sure what they were trying to hide). They had trouble deciding the price (I had internet ad, so I knew what the car was listed for and was told there was some room on the price by salesman 1) anyway, that process seemed to take forever, then played games about the car being certified or not (have online printout car was listed as certified) wanted to jack up the price! Then took my car for a drive without telling me they were leaving with it. I have been to 2 other dealers and they did not leave with my car to appraise it. Watched the guy walk around and beat on my car, he searched the whole car, like what's in my glove box got to do with the price. The offer was insulting, the people there are [violative content deleted]. Save yourself a lot of time and trouble - STAY away from MB of Tyson's

A terrific experience !!

by preciosa2 on 06/04/2010

When I arrived at the dealership I was greeted by Wagner the Sales Manager. He was very charming and was interested in my wants and needs. He immediately answered all my questions and had the vehicle I was looking for brought around for me. He introduced me to Mr Ken Hahm who began to show me all the features of the vehicle. He was very knowledgeable. I test drove the new E-Class and absolutely loved it. After the test drive they gave me a tour of their facility and showed me where I could bring my car for future service. I had been shopping for a car for a long time and never in my life have I been treated the way they treated me. They give you true first class service. The entire process was enjoyable with no high pressure sales pitch. They allowed me to take my time and pick exactly what I was looking for. I had been to two other local Mercedes Benz dealerships and nothing compared to the customer service that I received at Mercedes of Tysons. Needless to say, I bought a new car. I highly recommend anyone whose looking for a new Mercedes, to buy at HBL. They really care for their customers and it shows. A definite 2 thumbs up!

Rather buy a Toyota than a Mercedes from these guys

by behrooz on 05/23/2009

Their worse possible trait is an absolute lack of follow through. They make promises and they do not honor them. Which is really hard to understand when I am trying to buy a $110,000 car in today's economy. These guys are arrogant and have confused themselves with their cars. While the product is the best on the world, the sales team is ... well not even worth additional words. The great news is that there are additional dealers in the area. Try them. The only way HBL owners will realize how poor their staff is through their pocket book.

Read This: R-Class 350

by TLanc on 12/06/2008

I shopped around MD and VA through various websites and found this dealership to have the fairest deal with very adequate forum ratings. At the beginning it was the only dealership who treated me like a human being. They were very patient with me purchasing this vehicle. This was a used certified R-Class with 20,000 miles. Then came the problems: a blown fuse (which was blown before I used the outlet) , missing headrests, missing floormats, garbage hidden under the seats and in the upholstery, and they owed me a check for money back to close out a deal on a leased vehicle with another company. The plates have never arrived (3 weeks now) and I had to call corporate MB to threaten the company to finally send my check. I was told the floormats and headrests would arrive, but you can guarantee that will never happen now! I will never receive the headrests and floormats, but what I would really like to receive is an apology for all of the examples above. I have purchased many vehicles throughout the years and never had a problem like this, and it's only been 3 weeks. Maybe I'm just an exception, and this is an isolated incident. However, maybe I should have continued purchasing Acuras!

two thumbs up

by snzmail on 11/14/2007

i recently bought a new C350 4matic at MB of Tysons and the Sales Manager, Wagner, was the nicest car sales person i have ever dealt with. I did have a small problem with one of the keys the day after i bought it and they replaced my key without the usual hassle you get from car dealers over nothing. I hate car dealers but i was pleasanty surprised by their can do attitude....
