I bought a used Mazda5 from Brown's in Fairfax, and was rather displeased with the service. The time it took to buy the car took several hours, and we had our baby with us at the time. They weren't willing to work with us on price, on our trade in value, etc. We really shouldn't have bought the car. After purchasing, we took it to our own mechanic, who looked it over and told us it needed all new fluids, an alignment, and the battery was almost dead. When we went back to Brown's with this information, they told us our battery was tested "on the wrong machine" and it was fine. It died 2 weeks later. They claimed to align it, but it didn't feel like it was properly aligned, and we had to get it aligned again a few months later. And they said it was standard for them to sell cars that needed all of their fluids replaced. We got a decent price on the car - not great. But when you add in the total repairs we paid in the first 6 months, it nearly doubled our car payment. Sure, you can accidentally get a lemon anywhere, but I feel totally taken advantage of and wouldn't send my worst enemy to Brown's of Fairfax.
