I will have to say that the start of our visit to Greenbrier Kia went smoothly. We informed them upon walking in that we were only looking to see the inventory and see what vehicles our credit would qualify for. My fiancee and I were deadset on not buying a vehicle that day as we wanted to shop around for the best price and find a sales person we were comfortable dealing with as well. We let them know this before hand as well. *NOTE: In the Sunday paper that day, there were ads for this location detailing all the sales prices and rebates for the Kia Sorento and Kia Sportage, the two vehicles we were interested in purchasing one those models. I told them repeatedly during this whole process that I had seen their newspaper ad, they even had the ads in the office.* **NOTE: Before walking in I researched on Edmunds what a base model Kia Sorento should be priced at with the 5k cashback = $21,076 and with rebate $16,076**. Now walking into this I realize that dealerships need to make their money too so I expected something higher than the price from Edmund's website. We run my credit I tell him with the holidays around the corner we were looking to come in with no money down and looking to trade in our old vehicle. Our sales guy runs some numbers and tries to get us what we want for a monthly payment. Up to this point things are going really smoothly until I ask him the price of the vehicle (sticker on the car itself said $22,100) he tells me $23,988 less the rebate and that doesn't include the optional equipment that the dealership was going to install at no charge. I come into this knowing a Base Model Kia shouldn't be sold at this price but I don't get upset I let him continue his pitch. He then informs me that the model that we were looking at doesn't qualify for the 5k cashback and it should only get 4k (during this whole conversation about monthly payments he kept hammering home the 5k cashback rebate). We decide that overall it wasn't a good deal and we were tired and ready to leave. The next day while going online to find sales quotes from other dealers I call our sales person and ask him why he gave me such a high price when everyone else is quoting me something quite lower than the number he gave me, he then stammered a bit and told me that he "just remembered a few things about how he could make sure we get that vehicle for the price we should have been given the night before" he pretty much informed me that he tried to overcharge me and wants to make it up to me. Not the type of company I would want to buy a car from at all. Also as a note I wrote a review about Lynnhaven Kia (sister company to Greenbrier Kia).
