Re: Final price [kernelpanic]

I'm in Tri-Cities and will (hopefully) be looking for an '09 Rav4 in October-November time frame. I bought an Avalon from my local dealer and the best I could do was $599 OVER invoice. My daughter bought a Camry from Toyota of Kirkland but I'm not sure how they were to deal with. Auburn and Edmonds would not be a bad trip for me if those dealers are willing to offer reasonable (below invoice) prices. Are they better than Michael's in Bellevue and the Kirkland and Seattle dealers?

Purchased XLE with Option HX

We just purchased a 2006 Sienna XLE with Option HX, rear spoiler and floor mats for $30,100 at Kirkland Toyota in WA. We also received 60 months 0% financing as part of the offer. The invoice shown to us including all their advertisment fee, destination charge, finance reserve and etc. was $30,809.00. We also received a full tank of gas which seems to be standard but nice.

Toyota of Kirkland, WA. Had 4 quotes of $250 - $500 over dealer invoice. I've posted it before on the Camry boards.

I purchased from Rodman Toyota in Everett. The best in-person experiences were Rodman and Lake City (in-person). The best Internet experiences were Michael's (Bellevue) and Toyota of Puyallup. Rodman, Michael's and Toyota of Puyallup were willing to deal and were really the only ones I negotiated with. I also test drove at Michaels but they are a volume dealer and have a huge bull-pen of aggressive sales guys. I would buy from the Internet Sales guy but not in-person. The guy at Bob Bridge where I also test drove lied about a couple of things (like being able to order a manual transmission) and started negotiating in the middle of the test drive after I said I was only looking. Burien, Downtown Toyota and Kirkland seemed to have the highest prices. After telling him EXACTLY what I wanted, the guy at Downtown Toyota kept coming back with the wrong configuration and would I be interested. The salesman at Rodman told me that the area dealers were becoming more flexible on price (up to a point). If I kept the game going a little more between the 3 dealers, I might have gotten a few more dollars off but I was tired of the whole process. Hope this helps!
Buying experience Spokane, WA

I am slow in reporting my buying experience in Spokane, WA. We purchased a 2005 Sienna package 3, with 8 seats for $500 over invoice, then minus the $600 rebate for final price $100 under invoice. We also had floor mats which were also at dealer cost. We made this purchase at the end of September. We purchased our vehicle from Appleway Toyota in Spokane. We had a very positive expereince with them. We used one of their regular salesman for this purchase. We test drove the vehichle in July, then looked at them again in September before we decided our purchase. We were also looking at the Honda at the time as well. Before we got that price we emailed a bunch of dealers for price requests, we did that from www.toyota.com. We found out using toyota.com it takes approximately 48 hours once you submit your request for toyota.com to forward it to the appropriate dealer. We then called the salesman we had been working with and told him what we were doing and what was his best quote, he got back to us 20 minutes later, with the vehicle we wanted at $500 over invoice minus the rebate for a final price of $100 below invoice. We waited a couple of days to see responses, at the time we did not know about the 48 hour delay and were dissapointed in not getting any quotes, so we called around to dealerships and got quotes that way. No one could come close to that price. Kirkland Toyota tried but they finally said, that is a good price and buy it because they could not match it. Our experience with Kirkland Toyota was positive overall. Very helpful and friendly staff. When we first test drove the vehicle the only price quote I could get from him was MSRP price. We did have to wait to get the vehicle, we were given two choices, we could have the vehicle within a week with about 500 miles, or wait three to four weeks for 30 miles on the vehicle. If we wanted it right away they would have someone drive it up from Oregon, if we waited three weeks it would arrive on a truck. Since we were down to one vehicle and a hectic soccer schedule we decided to get it with 500 miles, and had the vehicle 5 days later, we actually could have gotten it 3 days later, but they did not know it would arrive that quickly and our bank was closed that day. The vehicle came with a full tank of gas. The buying experience was positive, we went in one day to put some money down and placed the order less than 30 minutes, then when the vehicle arrived it took us about an hour to get the purchase done. They did try to sell us various overprice extended warranty packages, which we declined, that person was very polite and did not try to push them on us once we said no. After all the paperwork was signed the salesman spent almost an hour with my wife going over the vehicle and showing how everything, worked which was quite helpful. The salesman was very knowledgeable on how everything worked. A lot faster method than reading the owners manual. A side bonus, we needed 100 pizza'a for a school function and he had contacts with Domino's pizza and we got a killer deal for those pizza's. Much better than the best deal we had at the time. Another side bonus, the sales slip from the Oregon dealership was in the car and showed that they had put a pinstripe on the van that added $89 to the cost. But that cost was never passed on to us. So a small freeby. In hindsight I would have tried to dicker some extra keys and remote control from Appleway before closing the deal. Overall we had an excellent experience with Appleway and would recommend them as a place to go and get a price quote from. Also it was nice to be able to give the salesman the sales instead of going to the salesman for a test drive then buying the vehicle from an internet salesman instead. Guy
