Buying a car from a Toyota Car Dealer
My dealer told me that invoice price doesn't always tell the story and doesn't always include everything. I took that with a grain of salt of course. Found another one in Chantilly, VA that is exactly what I want but they're selling it for a shade under 38K. That's a 09 Limited, 4WD, w/EVP#8. These are the same guys that offered ZERO off the MSRP last month. They must be doing really well. I'm not paying that much though. By the way, I just checked the incentives page on Toyota.com. For the Mid-Atlantic region they have discarded the cash back rebate for the rest of the month and are now only offering 2.9 and 3.9 financing, respective of the length of the loan. Not good for me, was hoping the cash back would go UP not go AWAY!! :(
Today we just purchased a Sienna XLE Limited with option package #1 for $1,601 under invoice through their internet sales division. MSRP - $38,939. Invoice - $35,449 Purchase price $33,548 includes the $99 processing fee and $1K Rebate (not title, tax, tags). We had a VERY POSITIVE buying experience. The salesman was professional, up front and a joy to work with. He drove the minivan down to us in Chantilly, VA, my husband did a quick test drive and signed the paperwork in under an hour - it was the quickest and easiest car sale we have ever experienced. I would highly recommend Younger Toyota to anyone. We originally started our van search on the internet and dealt with Darcars in Silver Spring - we had a bad experience with the salesman there as he tried to put doubt in our minds on the deal we made at Younger. Long story short, the Darcars salesman was full of lies and was very shifty. I would not recommend them at all.
I paid $15,011.32 (internet deal), plus TTL, from Ourisman Chantilly Toyota in Chantilly, VA. This wasn't their price but rather "matched priced" from another dealership nearby. It is an 06 "S" model with Value Package #1. Maybe I could have done better but am happy with the deal and don't feel that I got screwed over.
I am picking up my Titanium Avalon XLS this afternoon from Ourisman Chantilly Toyota. I had several dealers willing to negotiate but Chantilly had the color I wanted and options in stock. I would highly recommend this dealership, especially the internet group. There was a miscommunication on price between the internet salesman and the manager but it was cleared up with no argument from the manager in a phone call. Stand up guys over there. On top of it, I got a very good deal. If you want the details, please e-mail me. Good luck!
Note about the Dealer incentive. It DOES exist (at least in the central Atlantic region) but you aren't supposed to know about it. I just ordered an 05 Sequoia and I was using that incentive as part of my negotiation. I called 1-800-GO-TOYOTA on 12/17/2004 and they confirmed it existed, along with 750 cash to customer. My dealer called the same number on 12/21 right in front of me and it somehow disappeared. I called Toyota Corporate and was told I shouldn't have been made aware of it; they couldn't confirm it, but said my information was not inaccurate. I told them it was on Edmunds for the world to see. My dealer agreed to sell a decked out 2005 4WD SR5 with Nav/leather/sunroof, etc. for invoice + TDA + processing.
