2008 Black Sienna XLE EVP #3, AW 17"
by bboy2 on Tue Jan 08 19:26:35 PST 2008
I was at the dealership yesterday (big mistake) had done lot's of research thanks to you guys! I started talking invoice price and they said their invoice was $30,231 after $1000 rebate. I made an offer that equalled $29,000 after killing me on a trade. According to Edmunds the invoice would be $28,518 after $1000 rebate. That is $1200 off from where they were. They let me walk after dealing with a sit down with the pit boss who tried to make me feel like an idiot. They were saying things such as "we would be losing money", and "do you wanna see the invoice?" What is a fair price for this vehicle? We are cash customers so the rebate applies though I feel like the rebate has been lost in the shuffle. We only have one dealership in town but another 4 within a 60 mile radius (Nashville, TN. area). Thanks for any tips!

We bought an Le FWD pkg. 3 on the 1st of Sept. and paid 25,000 after rebate +TTL in Nashville Tn. We live in Memphis and this was the closest dealer to take my offer of 25,000. We didn't have the luxury to bargain too low a price because there just aren't many around here, none in Memphis like we wanted(2 CE and 1 Le Pkg. 2)and were pressed to get the 2,000 rebate before it expired. On the Siennaclub.org forum, I read where a lady bought one around April or May for 24,500 some odd dollars and I just told them I knew they could make money on 25,000 and they took it. The dealer there claims they are the the biggest in 37 states and that they like volume. They had to get it from another dealer and one dealer here in Memphis could do it too but they wouldn't come off 26,700. I believe you're getting a good deal you better hurry while you can.
Sienna XLE w #8 (Navi,DVD) at Rivergate Toyota, TN

Tried to purchase a Sienna XLE FWD with option package #8 on 07/28 at Rivergate Toyota in Madison, TN through the COSTCO auto buying program, which is a no-haggle price of $200 over invoice. Things pretty much went down hill after the test drive. First they could not locate an XLE with that package, but were able to get their hands on a fully optioned XLE Limited. I figured I was game expecting the price to truly be $200 over invoice. The salesman and his manager came back with a price that was roughly $2000 over invoice. The $2000 included a $700 (TDA) Toyota Dealer association fee for advertising, an $800 Toyota finance charge (the finance charges that the dealership pays Toyota), a fee to cover the salesman's salary, and other fees including the notorious doc fee, if things had continued I might have paid the salesman’s mortgage as well. This brought the grand total up to $37,521. On Tuesday 07/31 I drove 20 minutes south to Beaman Toyota in Nashville, TN and purchased and XLE w package 8 for 33,183 plus TTL

You may want to check out Fitzgerald Automalls, www.fitzmall.com. They have several locations in the DC area and a huge inventory. We were unable to find what we wanted in TN and purchased through the Gaithersburg, MD location. Internet sales was very organized, all paperwork done ahead of time, I flew up, met salesman at the airport and was home the next day. Their prices are very competetive (we paid $100 over invoice). Our local (Nashville) dealer ultimately agreed to order what we wanted at the Fitzmall price, but we weren't able to wait that long because our car was beyond repair. Even if you don't purchase through Fitzgerald, their prices are a great negotiating tool.
