Rav4 from online dealers?: by firehouse46 on Tue Jan 22 19:08:30 PST 2008; Hello, new to forum! I am looking to buy a Rav4 and have looked at details on Edmunds (a bit inflexible to configure it exactly as you like); been to Cars.com; CarMax; and Toyota (to get high side price). Has anyone tried this? I'm really looking to avoid those dreadful lot lizards that take up so much of your time selling a car. I have bough and sold 5 houses in my lifetime with less hassle. Anyway, back to the issue at hand: Here are two online prices I got and except for state tax , title, license what do you think? #1 4x2 Rav4 Base 4cyl Base $21,250 Delivery & Processing $685 AM/FM/CD/XM Cargo tray Mud Flaps Hood protector Tow receiver Hitch 4 speed auto #2 4x4 Base same options $27,452. Likely I's go 4x2 with 4cly. I am in west NJ about 60 miles due east of Allentown PA. Your thoughts are appreciated. :D

2008 Highlander Sport 2WD: by pmaggan on Sat Nov 17 04:58:18 PST 2007; We just picked up a Cypress Pearl / Sand Beige Leather Highlander Sport yesterday from Krause Toyota in Fogelsville, PA. It is over 500 miles away from us, but they had the option packages and color we wanted. MSRP $37,550 We paid $33,970 + TTL. This price was the dealership's first offer and I happily took it. Options include: Navigation with JBL Sound, Cold Weather Pack, Dual Zone HVAC, Rear HVAC Digital Controls, Moonroof, Power Rear Door, and the Floor Mats. We actually started our search at a local dealer who located this particular vehicle within a 500 mile radius. The local dealer did not want to trade for a vehicle this far away and offered to factory order the same vehicle for $34,075. We declined and they graciously offered up the other dealer's information. I called Krause and made the deal over the phone. I did have to buy a $98 plane ticket to Allentown, PA, but the salesperson picked me up at the airport which is only 15 minutes away from the dealership. All in all, a great experience. I just wish Toyota would not pre-determine which option packages they are going to send to their particular regions. I still can't believe this vehicle doesn't have Homelink. Oh well, the Homelink mirrors are only around $200 on Ebay.

I'm in philadelphia/allentown area in PA. They say that it is actually $100 below their invoice. Just what is an accurate invoice price? It seems to vary.

One dealer was $100 over invoice last Saturday but did not offer a good trade allowance (below Kelly Blue Book). Last month a dealer in Pottstown was at invoice, but again a low ball trade offer. Either dealer would have honored the price without the trade. I visited the dealer with all of the 05's. I got the same response - invoice and no rebate. I am curious how you make out.
