Buying a car from a Toyota Car Dealer
Corolla LE with mats - 16990 OTD inc. title and registration for 4 yrs Portland, OR so I didnt pay any sales tax... I could have gotten 750$ lower i.e., 16250 had I opted out of the Toyota finance option....and financed through a credit union/paid cash I got a 0% for my a lil over avg credit score which is why I went for it.... I did 1k down.... I think I did ok....regardless, it's a nice car to drive for a commuter car....and I know i'll get a decent money amount back even if I were to sell it after a few yrs I read a lot of your posts and would like to thanks Edmunds and all of you for this forum....All you prospective buyers should share your experiences and prices as well :)
Paid $34,800 OTD for a 2011 SE Highlander V6 AWD (near Portland, OR, factory sticker $37,122), shoreline blue with tow prep, tow hitch (factory-installed), mats, cross bars and mud flaps. Got the five-year 0% loan, plus a 20-year, 200K powertrain warranty. The powertrain warranty was thrown in by the local dealer; it's issued by Fidelity Warranty Services, which doesn't have great reviews, but, hey, it was free). We didn't want the Limited, as we didn't have a taste for the wood grain interior.
My friend is near to deciding on a vehicle, and the Highlander Limited V-6 AWD is what she's most interested in. The MSRP is $41,870, what would be a good offer to make to the dealership here in Portland, OR area?
That makes sense Kiawah. I remember driving a 4cyl and a 6 cyl saturn vue back in the day. Not a huge difference in most driving conditions. I will drive both and probably just like you said end up with a 4 cyl which suits how I'll drive and save me money. Which then only leaves the question of price. I see 2010 Camry LE's advertised all over but never below 20k. Seeing the deals people are getting and since OR has no sales tax I feel confident I can get one for under 19k. If anyone has an experience to share in Portland please do. Thanks Kiawah!
Vancouver Toyota Originally contacted through the Costco auto program MSRP 26,580 Costco Price 25,251 Negotiated for it for 24,000, out-the-lot (with all fees and registration) 4.2% APR through Toyota financing (beat my rate from Chase) Ron Tonkin Toyota offered $24,237 for the same spec Probably will have better deal later on in March but i'm ok with almost 10% off MSRP.
