Just got my new TCH in Oregon
by brupop on Fri Sep 29 16:30:14 PDT 2006
Called at 4 PM yesterday afternoon to Toyota of Bend (I live in the Portland area, 200 miles away). They delivered the car that same evening. Totally courteous and professional experience the whole way. Price Paid: 25,900 Base 580 Destination 470 C&C Pkg - CQ 940 Sunroof - SR 1,300 Leather - LA 295 Spoiler - RS 199 Mats - CF 29,684 Price for Vehicle - MSRP (hey it's a Hybrid and I got it the same day!!) NO SALES TAX, it's another benefit to living in paradise. 218 DMV includes $50 dealer document fee 29,902 Out the door, actually delivered to my house. BTW, the previous day I called Beaverton Toyota about a TCH they had listed on thier website. They told me it was in stock and available to buy. I called again yesterday at 1 PM and they said yes, it's still here and we'll get it out front for you. When we arrived we got a song-and-dance routine about inventory, stock listings, blah-blah-blah. I asked if they have that car to sell me today and they said no; I said good-bye. Went home and called Toyota of Bend; for a continuous play go to the beginning of this message. :) Thanks for listening, Greg
My buying experience
by gjwoodx on Thu Sep 21 08:53:21 PDT 2006
I purchased a 07 Camry SE V6 from my local dealership in Beaverton Oregon on 9/14/06. MSRP on the vehicle was $31,200. Financing was secured through my local credit union with an interest rate of 6.39%. I don't like wasting time haggling over prices with salesmen so I used my Costco auto broker to get a no haggle price of $28,480. With both price and interest rate secured, I only had to deal with the ID10T finance manager. She tried and tried to get me signed up for a VERY expensive extended warranty, and a plethora of other useless sprays, sealers and coatings. I said no to everything and she looked at me like I was hurting her feelings. It was a classic moment, and I just had to laugh. In the end I wrote an $8,480 check for the down payment and financed an even $20,000 with a monthly payment of $391. Beaverton Toyota gives you free oil changes for life, and this is my second vehicle purchased from them. Overall experience rating 9 out of 10

We got ours at Russ Toyota, Beaverton. However, you should check with all the dealers in the area. Go to Toyota's website, do the dealer search with zip code 97228. If you are flexible, you should be able to score a car more or less immediately...

Don't try Seattle. I had to go south since I couldn't get anyone here (and Tacoma) to come down. I had luck at Russ Auto in Beaverton. Talk to the Internet Sales person, she was very pleasant to deal with.

I'm also reviewing the 05 Tacoma Access and Double Cab pricing. I've since emailed this info, about the inconsistency in pricing from the manufacturer, to my contact at a dealership in Beaverton, Oregon, and the folks that sell at fleet pricing. We'll see what they have to say about it! It makes sense that dealers are going to be 'mum' about it, as it, (making money) is their bread and butter. However, this consumer is saavy - and I'm certainly won't cave to the first offer they, (the dealers or fleet guys) offer me on either an Access or Double Cab. I will prevail! If anyone can concur with me, (back up the info), please chime in.
