OK, so for purposes of comparison, if I pay $500 over the edmonds invoice AND destination AND TDA, then I am paying "$500 over invoice"? If so, cool; I'm ordering a 4x4 DC LB TRD #4 (PK) with side airbags and running lights for "$700 over invoice" :-D Santa Maria Toyota - very good to work with so far. I'll be finalizing the paperwork and deposit tomorrow. Anyone have experience on deposits for orders? (any problems with it? - they are asking for $500). The fleet guy I am dealing with seems like a real straight-shooter, which is really refreshing. Told me 6-8 weeks for the order to come in. (I don't care about color). This way I can get it without the stupid $500 radio that I am going to throw away anyhow and replace with an MP3 deck. :-)

In #3246 Andrewtran71 writes: I noticed that in OK, we pay car tax at the tag agency. So when we buy cars, the car dealers don't charge us tax, so our OTD price is not the same as other states like TX, etc. Right? But I think you got a great deal--almost $3K off MSRP. How much was your total price including OTD plus Tax, Title, and Tag? Andrewtran71, Sorry for the delay in responding, but I have been swamped and have not had an opportunity to check the forum as often as I would like. You are correct regarding the difference between OK and other states and how they handle the payment of the tax, title, and tag for a new vehicle (varies from state to state). Personally, I think the best way to determine how good a price a person gets on a new Sienna is without including the tax, title, and tag. While these tax related items do factor into the actual cost of ownership they can vary widely depending upon where you live. The tax, title, and tag fees are fixed expenditures determined by each state and not the car dealers themselves. Regarding your second question, the Tag Agency said we should receive the original title by certified mail, and then we can proceed with the payment of the other items. Until then I am in the dark as much as you are.

Don't give up on getting a good price on a Sienna in the OKC area. I ordered a Sienna XLE Limited the way I wanted it through Dub Richardson Toyota (instead of with all the junk GST adds on) on 12/20/03 and it was delivered on 2/6/04. MSRP was $36K and my "out the door" price was $33,300 (including all fees).
