Re: Sienna XLE - Bay area price paid [b_toyota]

Hello b_toyota. Thank you for the information on your XLE w/Package #7 (FP) purchase at $30,550 after $1K rebate in the Bay Area. At that price of $30,550 after rebate, are you able to receive any special financing offer or was the offer that you chose 1) either the $1K rebate or 2) low rate financing, but not both? If you were able to get the car for $30,550, including the rebate, AND get a low interest rate from Toyota, then there is more money on the table to be had. I'm trying to see what the bottom-line is. I have now received an OTD offer for a Sienna XLE FWD 7 Passenger from my dealer in Tulsa, OK of $33,837, with my choice of either 1) $750 rebate or 2) financing at 0% for 36 or 48 months, or at 2.9% for 60 months. The XLE is equipped with: XLE Package #6 (FC) (msrp = $3,975); A4 "Extra Mile Option" (a dealer package w/msrp = $542) which includes carpet mats/ door sill protectors, cargo net, 1st aid kit, fabric guard, custom tape stripe, roadside assistance (3yrs/36k mi.), Extra Mile Extended Life Tires (6 yrs/100K mi); (PC)(msrp=$220) Arctic Frost Pearl Paint; and (EF)(msrp=$1,499) 10.2" Dropdown DVD Entertainment System by "Auto Cinema", including hand held remote and two wireless headphones. The Total MSRP = $36,760. OTD = $33,837 (Oklahoma tax of 3.25% or so, and tag, are additional). The $750 rebate or the financing are available at the $33,837 price. Clearly the financing time value of money far outweighs the $750 cash rebate. If you assume a normal bank loan available today with a rate of approx. 6.25%, then the value of the low rate financing is worth up to $3,060 (Toyota Finance working with the manufacturer / dealers subsidy), and perhaps, the dealer may be willing to do a cash only deal with me for $3,060 less, or a price of $30,777 ($33,837 - $3,060). My analysis: $33,837 financed at special low int. rates: 36 mos. at 0% = $939.92; Present Value @ 6.25% = $30,942 48 mos. at 0% = $704.94; Present Value @ 6.25% = $30,026 60 mos. at 2.9% = $605.04; Present Value @ 6.25% = $31,271 vs. Cash Rebate Price of $33,837 - $750 Rebate = $33,087. So, the question in my mind is will my dealer lower the price of $33,837 (less $750 rebate) further and still offer me the financing, or have I found his best price? :confuse: Any thoughts? I appreciate others looking at this for me!
'06 Sienna XLE FWD 7 Passenger - Is this a Good Price??
by chantalp on Thu Aug 17 20:34:20 PDT 2006
In Tulsa, OK, was offered on 8/17/06 an OTD price of $33,079 (MSRP = $35,874. Option CODES are: FE, PC (Arctic Frost Pearl Paint), EF (10.2" Dropdown DVD Entertainment System), L2 (Leather Interior Upgrade), SS (Side Signal Mirror Upgrade), RS (Rear Spoiler), GC (Night Vision Mirror Upgrade), WT (Window Tint), A4 (Extra Mile Option Package A). Dealership is Riverside Toyota which is owned by Gulf Coast Toyota. Financing options include 36 and 48 month at 0% and 60 month at 2.9%. Does the Forum consider this a fair price? What are others paying for this configuration?

I live in Oklahoma, about 85 miles from Tulsa, and 30 miles from a Toyota dealer in Joplin, MO and 50-75 miles from two dealers in Kansas. Have been looking to possibly buy an LE with side curtain air bags and 5 pc carpet set and upgraded radio (AMFM wcassette/CD)-pretty minimal options. No firm prices from OK dealers-no cars in Oklahoma with color desired-Kansas dealer quoted $19,925 (1st and only telephone call) for desired color in stock, Missouri dealer quoted same car for $19,499 OTD (also telephone call (although they have serviced old Camry for 16 yrs.)-they would have had to get it from that Kansas dealer. No trade-in of old car to either dealer. Oklahoma, Kansas and Missouri until 8-1-05 has incentive on Camry of $1250. for Oklahoma and $750 in both Kansas and Missouri in lieu of special finance %.. Will probably wait now until next month to see if incentive is extended or modified. It seems by reading other posts in this forum, that prices are high here compared to some other states. Camry's seem to be bringing a high selling price vs MSRP even with incentives considered. May just have to look at Honda Accord instead.
Dissatisfied with Jim Norton Toyota in Tulsa
by twinmom73 on Fri Mar 04 15:27:55 PST 2005
I bought my van from Jim Norton Toyota in Tulsa, OK. I FINALLY picked up my Sienna XLE Limited yesterday. I placed my "order" in December! (more than 2 months wait!) Only contact I received on progress of order was when I asked what was going on. They were not proactive AT ALL. But what REALLY bothers me is this: I told them my father was thinking of buying my trade-in. We talked about it for the 2 MONTHS it took for my van to come in. At the end, he decided he didn't want it and we did trade it in. I picked up my new van at noon yesterday. Last night, my father wished he'd kept my van, so I called them at 9:00 a.m. when they opened this morning, LESS than 24 hours after the deal, to see if they would trade a different car in or just take cash for the trade-in value. These car dealers have their reputation for a reason - they would not reverse the 10 minutes of paperwork they had done, and even though they had done absolutely NOTHING to my trade-in, they almost TRIPLED the cost for us to "buy" it back. I understand dealers have to make a profit, but their degree of greed and inflexibility is disturbing. I STRONGLY urge all Tulsans to look elsewhere for a better dealer.

Is there a Toyota Dealership out there that really tries to sell a Sequoia at a fair price, or do they all think they are doing you a favor by selling you this vehicle?    We went to the Frank Fletcher Toyota in Joplin MO. We were on the lot looking at Sequoias for at least ten minutes with no other customers around and no one came to help us. We went inside and ask a employee if there was anyone who wants to sell a car, he laughed and said "Yeah, do you know anyone who wants to buy one" and he walked past us with his coffee cup to his desk. We left!     We talked to another dealership in Tulsa, OK. They were friendly and ready to help, but the offer they made us was approx. $5000.00 too high according to the figures we got here on Edmunds.  The attitude was, "This is our price and if you don't want to pay that, you won't get the vehicle."     I don't know how these dealerships sell anything. Unless people are paying way more than they should just because it's a Toyota.     Does anyone know a dealership that really tries to help you get the best price possible and still make a profit?
Gulf States Toyoto Rant and Raves
by inky4 on Thu Jun 24 09:57:29 PDT 2004
All of you TX, OK, AR LA and whatever people listen up. The Gulf States distributor continues to rip Toyota buyers off. For newbies they have right to distribute the cars and they add up to $7,000 in extra junk to the cars. This is pure junk. Often way overpriced. for instance the Limited I wanted with NAV and DVD listed for $43,000. Running boards , pin stripe upgraded turn signals, paint and fabric guard, window etching, front tint, first aid kit, 100k mile tire warranty, cargo net, sunroof wind deflector, trailer hitch and on and on. I was going to go to MO or KS to avoid this but found and XLE in Salsa with only Leather and DVD as adds. So price was workable and make offer and got the van. In Tulsa these are flying off the lots. I saw the two limiteds sold in one day after delivery. List was $32,500 and I paid $30,750 with little trouble. Yes I could have done better but who cares. Color my wife wanted and just the right options. Bought accessories on line for cheap at Toyota of Dallas. Gas mileage is great and got 3.9% for 60 months. Rates are poised to climb fast so the days of these low rates are coming to an end.
