The invoice for the Avalon I want (Limited w/Nav, Stability, Dynamic Cruise, XM) is 33,000. I plan to offer $34250 + $625 destination. Is this a reasonable offer? Thanks!

Just bought a 2006 2wd v-6 Highlander (end of Dec). Couple of points. Not too hard to find prices of $1-1.5K under invoice plus any rebate. Through internet contacts though (not off the street). When you close the deal, watch out. Dealers use the Toyota computer program to print the final contract. The computer can add "secret charges" like $330 Toyota advertising fee, and $50 set up fee. The It prints out a single "cash price" for the vehicle. Know ahead of time what the exact price is (take kbb or edmunds list and a calculator). kbb.com has the most comprehensive option list that includes the two character code. Two cheapest dealers I found on the east coast; one in Wilmington NC (lists new cars for sale on ebay) and a toyota chain in MD (DARCARS Toyota - make sure you contact the internet sales consultant). I believe I found them through AutoTrader.com. Florida and Georgia buyers have an extra cost layer due to a middle man (distributor fees?). 6.75% sales tax sounds good. here in S. CA, we pay 8.25% Good luck.

I think we have a good deal, not the best deal (which would be at Carmax 6 hours away), but just wanted to double-check here and get some opinions. We have not signed any papers but the car is here and we'll hand over the check tomorrow if we're sure. Here are the details: 2006 LE 8-passenger, desert sand, with pkg #2 (I think this is "Pkg #1 up north) which is the power sliding door on the right side and carpet mats and homelink. MSRP: 25,280 Invoice: 25061 Offer from Toyota of Wilmington (NC) is $24900. They are giving us $1500 (!) for our 1992 Toyota Camry Wagon with 170,000 miles on it (explain that one), so including ttf the out the door price is $24437. We're figuring we'll install a Best Buy 10" DVD after market rather than pay the $2K for the summer drive pkg, saving us about a thousand. Anyone have thoughts on this? Should we write the check tomorrow?
always a game..check this non-price out..

looking for a new 4wd SUV for my wife as her '01 4wd Subn is coming off a lease in two months.... decide to go see the Sequoia LTD at the local Toyota dealer in Myrtle Beach.. MSRP 48381.. buy price 45621.. that's 94%...are they on drugs or what... then I ask about the $1000 Cash Back on Sequoias.. it's right on the Toyota site.. he says there is none.. not nice.. the Toyota site shows invoice prices ruff-lee 89.7% of MSRP... figuring adding in their ripoff Advertising fees of about 300-500 so the dealer is trying to rip me off for more than 4% over invoice .. or about $2200+ .. he must get people in there falling off sweet potato trucks.. he then gives me a 36 month lease price of $727.. with a Lease rate of 3.34%.. yeah right.. residual is 55% but he said he can only base it on 46700 of the 48381 MSRP..that's a new one for me.. so right away I know he built in some ADP( addition dealer profit) that Toyota won't let him use ... all the above prices are without Taxes, tags, etc...  we decided to drive a 2wd Limited version as no 4wd's on the lot... nice but nothing special.. same-same as an Expedition in our opinion.... we now have two '01 Subn 4wd's.. had a 99 Subn also had a '97 Expedition...plus a couple of Limited Explorers before that...all 4wd's .. so we know what to look for...and how to deal especially on how to figure lease prices.. after that non-experience, I sent out a couple of emails to other dealers for prices on Sequoias .. one in Wilmington, NC and one in Charleston, SC.. we'll see what develops..     we laughed as I walked out the showroom.... a wasted day..

I recently purchased a 2004 Sequoia SR5 from Wilmington Toyota in Wilmington, N. C. The verbal deal was $34,000 plus tax and tags. When the papers were completed they added $249.00 for ducument fees. I didn't notice they had added this charge until I got home and carefully read the agreement. I went back and talked to the people at the dealership. They refused to refund the $249.00. This appears to me to the underhanded and deceitful.
