I guess buying a Sienna with such as great deal is pure luck. Because they have no reasons to sell you for less. I have followed those suggestions (sell fast for quick allocation, etc). It doesn't work in this case. For the guy who hate Plymouth, sounds like a $2000 discount.
I paid dealer invoice in MA

My wife and I have been working with our local Toyota dealer for about a week trying to get the best deal possible. After some long and hard nose negotiations (and getting serious with some other dealers) he agreed to sell us a new Sienna Le with options UN,UR,TO,FE and EF for dealer invoice $24,825. This is a brand new 2001 Sienna LE minivan with 34 miles and absolutely nothing wrong with it. Perfect condition inside and out. On top of this he gave me $1200 trade for my 1990 Plymouth Voyager which I found on the private market was worth less than $1000 on average. My 'out the door' cost was $23,625 after trade + $114 doc fee plus $1181.25 sales tax and $65 for title & registration. My wife and I are very please with the deal we were able to get. How did we do it you ask? One of the owners of our local family run Toyota dealership told us he wanted to sell us a car more than any other dealer and build a good relationship/trust with us. He told us he hopes we will refer others to him and bring both of our toyota vehicles to him for service/etc which we do plan to do. This is how he plans to make up for any loss in initial profit from the sale of the vehicle. With a little luck and a lot of hard work you should be able to get a similar deal for yourself esp. now when sales are down for many dealers.
