I put down my $500 deposit on Memorial Day and received mine (base + Package #5) in Metallic Gray on Friday, June 6 from Darcars in Silver Spring. I was expecting to wait *at least* 4 weeks, maybe more, so I was pleasantly surprised. My salesman was Joe - friendly guy and not intimidating (esp to a first time new car buyer). Here's the breakdown: MSRP - 22475 Package #5 - 5280 - 2000 (extra value package discount) = 3280 Glass Breakage Sensor - 165 Wheel Locks - 67 Accessory Package (Floor mats, cargo mat and net, first aid kit) - 279 Destination Charge - 660 Dealer Prep - 100 Extended Warranty (7/750000) - 1845 MD Tax - 1591.56 Registration Title Fee - 237 Total 30699 Good luck everyone!

Daniel- Don't know if you are still shopping, but if so....you should easily be able to score an '08 RAV-4 in the Maryland suburbs of DC for invoice price plus the $100 dealer markup, which is the maximum allowed by law in MD. I bought one at the end of November at DARCars in Silver Spring. Took only 2 brief e-mails to get them to offer me a V6 Ltd. at invoice. Also check out the inventory and prices posted online by fitzmall. With rare exception I have given up buying my cars in Northern VA, even though I live there. Generally speaking, the arrogance among most NOVA dealers is exceeded only by the amount of their "non-negotiable" dealer prep fees.
2008 Sport 4x4 Purchased
by leons on Tue Sep 11 02:44:47 PDT 2007
Purchased a Silver, black leather 4x4 Sport Highlander for $33,581, plus tax and title about 10 days ago. Car has leather, sunroof, power lift gate, front dual-zone A/C, rear auto A/C, Bluetooth, tow package, cold package, engine immobilizer, and sunroof. Worked with Ken Barro at Darcars Silver Spring, MD. Used the Costco Price ($500 over invoice) as a negotiation tool. Took a trip to and averaged 25 mpg on the highway according to the car's trip computer. City mileage has been closer to 17 mpg. It drives well....good power, quiet, bluetooth works well, and roomy. This is our first 4x4. We like the car. Leo

Just bought 07 Corolla S for our daughter and she loves it! The options were difficult to find, we had to wait a couple of days before they could deliver it. After meeting with sales from many different dealerships in NJ, DE, and PA, figured out that toyotas are hot right now and they don't feel they need to come down since "they can sell the cars, they don't stay on the lot long" We had our bottom line refused many times and lost the $1000 incentive, it was reduced to $750. We were able to get a 07 Corolla in dark blue with -All Weather Guard package -Anti-Lock Brakes,Electronic Brakeforce, Tire Pressure Monitor -Power Tilt/Slide Moonroof with Day/Night Inner Mirror and Driver & Passenger Side &Curtain Airbag -Extra Value package #1 -Preferred Accessory Package (carpet floor mats, cargo mat, cargo net. Amounts on sticker: Sub-total before discount $20,530 MSRP discount $780 Total $19750 Amounts after the sit down battle to save. Negotiated price $18033 Dealer discount $750 Bottom line price $17283 Since then, have found similar car in on-line inventory Silver Springs MD cost was advertised a bit lower. I did not contact them since the NJ dealership called with the car delivered to them last night and I wanted to get it over with already! Oh well, at least the battle is over and the car is now ours.
