Well sales are good but most of the problem right now is the transition to 2007s. Fitzmall usually has 40 RAV4s, but only a few for the last month almost. Since I am guessing that Roanoke is in the SE region try this: Go to www.toyota.com , go to build and buy and enter your zip code. This should show you the SE region stock which is 900 RAV4s in or coming in. from there you can see what your dealer or other dealers have by playing with local zips. SE region has awefull prices and fees. If you are flexible and go to www.fitzmall.com you can get your RAV4 for $200 over invoice + $99 fee. in Baltimore MD.. Fly up there on a Southwest internet fare for $50, they bring it to the airport and you might save $1000 or more versus your local dealer. lots of people on the net have done it. One guy all the way from Little Rock, AK! Good luck
Great place to buy, with website and all!!

for all those who haven't bought yet, I had a great car buying experience. I had called all the dealers in the NJ/eastern PA region and even walked out of 2 because of deals gone bad. We happened to be going away for the weekend and I decided to call some dealers along the way. I ended up calling Fitgerald Lakeforest Toyota in Gaithersburg, MD. They quoted me a price over the phone that was lower than ANY dealer in NJ/PA despite all my haggling with those awful dealers. Their motto is: NO HAGGLING. The price is the price. They even have a website where you can look at their inventory and rock bottom prices posted right there on their site!! I ended up getting a Sienna LE with pkg 8 in silver shadow pearl ( a hard color to come by around here) for $2400 under MSRP. AGain, that price was posted on their website!! THey also gave me $2000 more for my trade-in ('99 loaded VW Passat) than any other dealer offered me. I called, rechecked their site, gave all my info for the paperwork over the phone on the way down, showed up, they looked at my VW, offered me a price ( I accepted their FIRST offer because it was so much higher than I had gotten offered before). I signed the paperwork, and was out of there! It was too good to be true. I plan to buy ALL my future vehicles from them. ( they sell a lot of other makes besides Toyota). Even though I live in NJ and they are in MD, it's worth it. Check into it if you are in an acceptable driving distance. It's totally worth it, and totally stress free!!!
Price Paid in MD - 4X4 V6 SR5
by mudbuggy on Tue May 27 08:15:37 PDT 2003
Absolutely love this vehicle. There is no way to compare this vehicle to the previous generations of 4 Runners (I owned 3). The peppy, 245 HP V6 is more than enough for my purposes. The computerized "compensation technologies" associated with the braking, and drive train systems are incredible. It is wider than any previous generation 4 Runner, and the ride - fuhgettaboudit. How about the guy that was trying to compare (any generation of) the 4 Runner to the Chevy or GMC product ... go figure. My deal went like this: 4X4 V6 SR5 - Dorado Gold 17" alloy wheels carpet/cargo floor mats running boards roof rack color keyed bumpers (not the gray industrial) tow pkg (not sure if an option) cargo cover $26,850 $28,400 OTD Note: This supposedly "no haggle" dealership had a (Memorial Holiday) $300 coupon and and came down an extra $200 from there. I don't think no-haggle means NO haggle. I might not have gotten the rock bottom lowest price but no other dealer in my area had the actual vehicle that I wanted. This was it. Can't wait to get this puppy out on the beach at Cape Hatteras and on the mountain in West Virginia. Isn't love great!!!

The XRS has the automatic, 17" aluminum wheels, cargo and floor mats. He also had one with a sunroof which he said would hike the price up only by the published invoice price. It's basically $250 under invoice once the cash rebate kicks in. So Cal is apparently a hotbed for PTs - no $2500 rebate, best I can get is $4750 off the Dream Cruiser Turbo. In any case, all the prices are below the edmund's TMV for my zip code. Oh, a Matrix Q: Do XRS owners experience knocking when using 89 instead of 91?
Matrix Seating
by matthew525 on Thu Mar 27 17:26:07 PST 2003
Md-rocks. Found the Matrix seats are like an SUV. I'm 5'11 and have plenty of leg room (seat isn't even all the way back), and plenty of head room (nope, not sticking it out the moonroof either). What options & accessories do you have on the XRS? My dealer was very open with regards to invoice pricing and I matched their costs with Edmunds and Carpoint. Our dealers in SE VA are offering $500 off on the invoice (something I didn't get back in Dec 02). Didn't price out an Accord LX (wife wanted an EXL model so that is what we toyed with). The PT dealers wouldn't talk about invoice pricing, the turbos were very new and I suspect they wanted to see how business would take off before offering invoice. Good hunting.

Seating position? Hmmm...haven't driven a Matrix in awhile and will test the Accord this weekend. I'm 6' 2" and slouch a touch when I drive and remember my legs brushing against the bottom fo the dash last time. Maybe it's been a while too long. To try and stay on topic, my experience with Honda dealers has been fairly positive, one even offered to match any reliable quote I can pull in. Current standings: Matrix XRS: 18,191 Accord LX V6 coupe: 21,448 PT turbo: 21,891
