V6 Base 4WD for 23,750+tax
by lisdog1 on Fri Feb 01 11:32:57 PST 2008
in WV I got a deal on a V6 Base 4WD for 23,750 + tax (5%) = 24937. With the options of: daytime running lights roof rails crossbars carpet/cargo mats wheel locks tow prep package tonneau cover MSRP = 26,060 I'm thinking this is a good deal, but the car has 565 miles on it. I know 465 were from driving it from New Holland PA dealer to Baltimore MD dealer and then to Charleston WV dealer. The other 100 - test drives??? First time buying a car. Seems like a good deal even with the mileage??? Are there ever any incentives or rebates for Rav4s? Thanks for your help!
BEWARE BUYERS IN MD Area -BAD Toyota Dealer
by yashm on Fri Mar 02 06:03:25 PST 2007
was dealing with the dealer in my local area i.e. Russel Automotive Group. 6624 BALTIMORE NATIONAL PIKE BALTIMORE, MD . This is my worst experience dealing with a dealer. I spoke with the sales guy and Manager and even GM. THe General Manager (GM) was the rudest of all. They agree in writing for a price and later changed it when I wanted to purchase the vehicle. I have it in writing a price from them and when I agree to purchase they said, it would cost more by $1000. This is cheating the customer. It is unfair business practise. It is not ethical at all. I am really disappointed at the way I have been treated and if toyota dealers treat customers like this the amount of time it has taken toyota to become no 1 in USA i.e 50 years, it would probably take 100 times less to become the worst company in USA. Please be very very careful in dealing with Russel Group. They do sell other brand s of vehicle as well. their website is www.rcars.com

Try Fitz Mall, Baltimore Md., used them as a method to obtain best price in St. Louis area and then purchased car for matching price without having to fly out and drive car back or have it shipped.

I want to repeat my buying tip which should work for most people: Pick out your car with all the options desired by using Edmunds.com, select New Cars/Prices, Reviews etc. and find invoice price on your car with desired options.Be sure to have a couple of alternate choices on the options you want , but ultimately come up with your preferred car(mine was a XLE V6 with heated seats(HD), smart key(SK), carpet mats(CF1), vehicle stability control(VS). Match up your car or cars on edmunds with a column showing MSRP prices and invoice costs along side for the base car price and all options. Include Destination charge which figure is the same for MSRP and Invoice. Go to a dealer (after closing) and find a car that matches up MSRP wise and now you'll know what the actual invoice figure is for the car with options. Note that the sticker will show the destination charge and list all options at the same figures Edmunds told you were MSRP prices. Next, go to Fitzmall.com and find a car that matches up to the one you want. You'll find the MSRP prices match up with what you've have already found in your Edmunds and carlot research. Look at Fitzmall "delivered internet" price which is the price they will sell you the car before tax, title, and licensing. They only add a small documentary fee of $55(PA.) or $99(MD), but they will waive that fee if you live out of state and you will handle your own T.T.L.. So now you have a car that for example has a MSRP price of $32,233, Invoice Price of $28,869 and Delivered Internet Price of $28,969( see stock#T524807, a Black XLE V6 listed today).Caution: sometimes the invoice price recited by Fitz won't match up with Edmunds, but they broke it down for me and I found they were factoring in Dealer Holdback amounts. Bottom line is you will have a for example $30,000 MSRP car that you can buy from them for about $27,200. You won't get a better quote from any dealer to begin with. I then found I would have to pay $99 to fly out to Baltimore and drive car back( the $99 doc. fee would be waived and Fitz would give me 30 day temp. tgs) or they would put me in touch with some auto transport companies who would haul it to me for about $600-700. I then took my Fitz price and shopped it with big dealers assuming they would argue I would have to pay extra to actually get the Fitz car here and that I should be willing to pay several hundred dollars more locally. Surprise! A couple of local dealers immediately said they would work with me and as I pitted them against each other and Fitz I finally got one that exactly matched the Fitz price including doc. fees. So I got my desired car at desired price and without extra airfare or freight fees.

Well sales are good but most of the problem right now is the transition to 2007s. Fitzmall usually has 40 RAV4s, but only a few for the last month almost. Since I am guessing that Roanoke is in the SE region try this: Go to www.toyota.com , go to build and buy and enter your zip code. This should show you the SE region stock which is 900 RAV4s in or coming in. from there you can see what your dealer or other dealers have by playing with local zips. SE region has awefull prices and fees. If you are flexible and go to www.fitzmall.com you can get your RAV4 for $200 over invoice + $99 fee. in Baltimore MD.. Fly up there on a Southwest internet fare for $50, they bring it to the airport and you might save $1000 or more versus your local dealer. lots of people on the net have done it. One guy all the way from Little Rock, AK! Good luck
