msrp with options = 30572.00 options: EJ = JBL 6 disc in dash & blue tooth wireless, mp3/wma playback capabilities 9 speakers HD= heated seats LA= leather seats RL= daytime running lights SR= moonroof TO= towing prep 3500lbs capacity and upgraded radiator and alternator Z1= preferred accessory pkg carpet/cargo mat set, cargo net, first aid kit color savannah metallic (this is the only one that we've seen in our area) NW Indiana bought Lafayette, IN home of Purdue University 1 1/2 hours south of our home so travel to buy was not as bad as some on this board. bought for 28200.00 from what i'm told this is a good deal around here though it sounds like others have gotten a better deal on this site. now we start negotiations on platium 7 year 100,000 mi warranty so far 900.00 any opinions? I've been told that the extended warranty needs to be purchased before the car is titled (or a few days after) is this true? With ford and Gm you can purchase it any time before the 12 month 12000 mi. time period and it is the same price as the day you bought the car. I'm told not so with Toyota, price goes up after it is titled so it is to my benefit to get the best price before taking possession. Taking posssesion first part of the week. I just got back from driving it no problems as listed on this board. Noise (road) = no, no different than 02 explorer, JBL = no thanks chuck
FwdV6 w/3rd seat purchase

After several months of research and finally deciding on the HL (husband really wanted Toyota)we purchased ours on Feb27. Salsa Red Pearl w/gray interior! Has options DJ NE PE AG CQ and TO. MSRP 28,720 got it for 25,800. Invoice was 25,408 and there was $400 cash back. Dealer was Hampton Toyota in Lafayette, LA. I had a price quote from another dealer about 30min away for similar vehicle with a few added options for the 25800. My husband preferred using the local dealer which is where we will service the vehicle. I told them of the 25800 quote and asked them to match it. Hampton came back with 26,000. I refused and was standing up to walk away (my husband with a surprised look on his face cuz he was willing to take the 26 but not me)when the sales manager came over and agreed to the 25,800. They also gave us a lower rate in financing than our bank or credit union so we went with them. All in all not a bad experience and I am loving my new HL!! OH, and when looking over the vehicle we realized it had pin stripe, glass etching and side door guards not listed as options!! So I think we got a great deal!! Of course, now there is a 1,000 cash back for HL. Always my luck!!! I have my trailer hitch on order from etrailer.com after reading several post here. Hopefully the installation will go smoothly. I will post a note after it's done!!!!
2004 Camry LE 4 cyl 4 spd auto
by TMLTML on Wed Feb 04 17:59:37 PST 2004
TEXAS : Wanted a bare 2004 Camry LE 4 cyl 4 spd auto Ext Color 04Q2 Desert Sand Mica, with absolutely nothing else added (MSRP $20,390 according to Kelly Blue Book, $20,425 is actual current MSRP). I requested availability and "Drive-out" price, which avoids the confusing bill padding which can follow the quoted discount price. To make a VERY LONG story short, I received 3 offers to sell at $100 over invoice. Those 3 "Drive-out" prices were Cavender = $19555.43, McGill = $19,400, and Calvert = $19,958.84 . I don't believe the $19,400 "Drive-out" price, so instead, I ask Cavender to write the deal up. He says the car was just sold. So I expand the number of dealers I e-mail, and sent out the following: . "I have enough salemen to deal with, that I don't have to deal with non-responsive quotes. If you quote me the wrong thing, i.e. with extras I did not specify, I will drop you from consideration. I don't have time to correct salespeople who can not get things right the first time. IT'S NOT ROCKET SCIENCE. I've lived in San Antonio since 1986, but I've bought a 1999 Durango from Oklahoma, a 2000 Honda Odyssey from Lafayette LA, and a 2002 Nissan from San Marcos, TX. The last car which I bought from a San Antonio area dealer was a 1996 Camry. The best deal I've been quoted is $100 over invoice, but it's not in stock yet. They are going to try to intercept one before it reaches the distributor. Don't bother quoting a Demo Car, or a car which has been repaired. You are only wasting time. You waste my time, and I will tell everyone on Edmunds Townhall, and I know you value your internet reputation." Within 30 minutes I get the response I have been looking for. "Hello Tommy ,  What you ask is simple and as Director, I feel that your needs are being answered below. A 2004 Camry in desert sand with no additional options. ( I have 1 in stock) Your cost after rebate will be $18137.55 making your drive out at $19499.18 . Now ALL REBATES END TODAY!!!!!!!! So in order to receive this price you do have to arrange to come in today and purchase the vehicle from myself. As of Feb 3,2004 the $750.00 rebate will change to a higher or lower or even go away. WE DO NOT know at this time……. This is a NEW CAMRY 10 miles on the odometer. If you decide to purchase after today, then your starting price will be $18887.55 then depending on what happens with the rebate will decided your final price. John Chervinskis Director - Fleet/Internet/Special Programs Red McCombs Toyota" I have to report that John was terrific to deal with. He took the time to answer all my questions, faxed me a buyer's order with all the numbers detailed, and went over all the features of the car. Not only that, but he sold the car for $0 over Invoice price. I didn't try to grind him, and he didn't gripe about how little he was making. He was happy with the $398 holdback. Great deal on a car he got on Jan 29 and I purchased Feb 2. He was very friendly and courteous, and above all informative and straight forward. Note that he clearly stated what was going on with the rebate program, and how it could change. So I can give John Chervinskis a very strong recommendation. You can e-mail me if you want to hear the LONG story about dealing with the other dealership salesmen. Wrote the Check for $19499.18 plus $625 (supposedly $50 over their cost) for a 7 year 75,000 mile Zero deductible Platinum Toyota Extended Care Vehicle Service Agreement.
