Re: 2009 Camry LE with Luxury Package....in Atlanta... [kannu]

Okay...I don't want to put the actual name of the dealership to be fair with other dealerships...here is a hint....it is located in Canton, GA. There is only one guy who does the Internet sales at the dealership.....Request a quote from him via email....He does not play a game...he honors his quote, a very straightforward guy... but he does not accept any negotiation...so, when you go there, make sure that the price is the best you can get....because it is a long drive.... Here is a tip when you shop for Toyotas....In my opinion...Toyota prices are much more easier to work with than Hondas....Honda prices are very difficult to figure out.. And.I never saw any special prices posted on Honda websites...But for Toyota, simply go to any dealership website in the area and look for 'Hot on the Lot" pages....Get the price for the vehicle you want to purchse...or, get the price for a similar vehicle...and you start your negotiation from that price....Tell your salesman that the price is the average price people pay....In my past experience. when I shoped for Sienna back in April......they accepted that price without any problem....of course, I went to a large volume dealer..when I asked for more discount, .they came down about $100 or $200...but no more....So, I guess that "Hot on the lot" prices are very good prices.some salesman say that Hot on the Lot vehicles are demo vehicles...don't believe that kind of lies........Well....this is my opinions....If you are not good at negotiation..like me...this may be a good strategy.... If you have a trade-in, don't bring your car to your dealership...If you bring your car to the dealership for trade in, that means that you want to help dealers... I don't think it is bad...you are helping local businesses...nothing wrong with it...but don't complain about it...In Atlanta area, first bring your to CarMax and get them appraise your car....I know that they also want to make money out of your car...but their price seems to be a lot higher than you can get from dealerships.....For example, the best price I could get for my 2005 Mazda MPV from all different dealerships...was $7500. as you know...they say that they don't make any money.....out of trade ins....blah blah....but CarMax offered $10000 for the Mazda.....When I negotiated my trade in, I asked the dealer to match the price....first, they declined...but when I tried to walk out....they finally matched the trade in price... Note that it is better to trade in your car through a dealer because there is a tax benefit....if no dealer matches that price, sell it to CarMax. Every situation varies....the two tips I listed above may help a person like me who is not good at negotiation..... Hope it helps....Good luck...
Re: Fond Memories Of '04 Prius Price [gagrice]

Thanks for the friendly words of goodwill. Same to ya Gary. As to our travels ...We cover several medium trips to southern Indiana and are heading out to Atlanta next month to visit kids. The Prius now has about 63 K and general maintenance has proven par for a hybrid. My only complaint is the need to maintain wheel balance & alignment to keep tires as they should be. I had a vibration that was annoying and proved to be troublesome till finally corrected. I'm anxious to see and investigate the '08 or '09 Prius thats in the works. Our favorite mode of transportation is a cruise ship (not very fuel thrifty). Gotta love the pampered life the cruise companys lavish on their clientel. Retirement is so enjoyable (10 yrs). Yah, We're spoiled. I look back on my yrs on the railroad and miss the many good times. Enough of my meloncholy rememberances.
Buying in GA or north FL
by dex on Wed Oct 27 07:12:34 PDT 2004
I have been going back and forth between the Ody Touring and the Sienna LTD for some time now and have changed my mind countless times. I finally bought a 04 Sienna LTD last night. If the Touring did not have PAX or if the EX/L had a power tailgate, I would have bought the Ody. Nonetheless, I want to share my findings for anyone who is looking to buy an Ody or Sienna in GA or north FL. I did most of the leg work via e-mail but found that you have to prod and have a few iterations before you get a solid price Please note that the doc fee at the dealers below is around $400 which is typical for GA. Also all my dealings were with the internet dept at the dealers I mention below and none of them pushed me to buy any accessories. Sienna. In the southeast, most dealers have what is known as Toyoguard which is an utter waste of money and retails at around $699. I bought my 04 Sienna FWD LTD from the internet person at Cherokee County Toyota for a few hundred under invoice (invoice is around $32.2k for the 04)+ doc + tt. It was painless and a pleasure to deal with them. The great thing about them is that none of their vans have this Toyoguard which brings the price down. If I was willing to drive about 3 /1/2 hours south of Atlanta to Albany, GA, the best deal all round was at Fairway Toyota via their internet dept. They only have 05 Siennas and will sell them very close to invoice (invoice is around $32.6k as per carsdirect). They were very responsive via e-mail and I would have bought from them if I went the 05 route. They do have some of their Siennas without Toyoguard which is great. Definitely the best deal in GA for an 05. Ody Metro Atlanta is not great and you get a few paltry dollars below MSRP. However there is a dealer in GA that smokes the other dealers. If one is prepared to travel south a little over 4 hours from Atlanta to Brunswick (the dealer there is Nalley Honda), they will sell the 05 Ody at around $1800-1900 below MSRP via their internet dept. The internet person was great and I would most definitely have bought my Ody from them if I landed up going for an Ody. He gave the facts as they were as objectively as any dealer I have ever dealt with. He also offered to drive the Ody to me in Atlanta. If you are buying in GA or north FL, definitely check them out. I would have flown there on Delta from Atlanta for a little over $100 and then driven the car back. Financing CostCo rocks. Thru their auto program they hooked me up with Capital One and I got a rate of 2.64%. There were 3 provisions: It needed to be a 3 year or less term, I needed to do direct debit out of my account and there was a one time $65 fee. I took this out about 2 1/2 months ago and they granted me one extension at the same rate. Not sure what the rate is now. Auto Ins Again, for me CostCo Ins program hooked me up with Amex Ins and I did my home and car thru them and the rate was great. Bottom line after all my research is that if one does not care about the power tailgate, I think the best buy is definitely the Ody EX/L or EX if you do not like leather. However if the power tailgate is a must and you are not crazy about PAX, then, welcome to my world !!
