I certainly understand everyone's frustration. If we're all laying out close to 40K for a vehicle, it had damn sure better be equipped EXACTLY like we want it. However, I will say that between Schaumburg Toyota in Schaumburg, IL and Pauly Toyota in Crystal Lake, IL there always seem to be a half-dozen or so Highlanders Limited WITH Nav and W/O DVD pretty much all the time...which begs another question - why won't they deal more ?

Hi lookn4van, The quote I got ($23,225 for '06 7-pass LE with pkg #4) is BEFORE ttl, please note that. this is from schaumburg toyota, in schaumburg, IL FYI, elgin toyota in elgin, IL is offering 7-pass LE with pkg #2 for $21,919 BEFORE ttl. I haven't really haggled at all for either of these, got the quotes direct from their sales/internet guys. so there may still be room for negotiation good luck !
Re: Chicago Area recomendations?? [golic]

I bought from Schaumburg Toyota and would say I had a very good buying experience. I also had a good email exchange from the internet dept at Libertyville (but they are far from me, otherwise I would have considered them). I've heard good things about St Charles, but don't have direct personal experience. Finally, I like the concept of no-haggle at the Toyota/Carmax in Kenosha. I did not buy from dealer closest to me when I felt too much pressure during negotiations. In the end, I got a price $500 less from the dealer above compared with my local dealer. I wonder if the price difference was partly because I contacted the internet department first (where I purchaced the car) rather than making an initial contact with a salesperson (when I first went to my local dealership). Good luck to you.
Chicago dealers

Anyone here deal with Schaumburg Toyota or its sister store in the city, Midtown Toyota? I've received e-mail quotes from one of their Internet sales group for right around $2000 off MSRP ($200 under invoice minus $500 customer cash). They don't have a unit I want in stock (I want an 'S', manual transmission, with a sunroof and ABS, which apparently are rare--most manual 'S' are stripped, ABS cars are unusual in Chicago at all for some reason, and usually if you want a sunroof, you end up with a bunch of other crap that I don't want and don't want to pay for).
Got a LE 8 seater with option #6
by peterisme on Wed Dec 22 12:32:26 PST 2004
Bought a LE 8 seater with option #6 last night. I went through to negotiation through emails and I believe I found a good deal. I emailed about 20 dealers in Chicago area. Schaumburg Toyota offered $300 above invoice and Continental Toyota offered $200 over invoice. It seems their invoice price is $450 than the invoice price at Edmunds.com. Finally I got the car at $26,163 (MSRP $28,946) with Continental Toyota. The sale man is very nice. (I doubt he is real auto dealer J)   It is an interesting that I first asked for a LE with 7 seats and the dealer yesterday emailed me said they got it for me. When I went there, the car just arrived with just 4 miles and I found it is an 8 seats model. The dealer said: “Oops, I didn’t notice it either”. Since the 8 seater is just $130 higher than the 7 seat one, I just went ahead to sign the contact.   Thanks guys in this forum, I gathered most of my information get this deal.
