Not at all surprising with recent gas prices increases. MSRP is probably the best you can hope for. Better hurry up though, the MSRP is supposed to increase by $200 within the next few days. Within the last few months, you could have bought for close to invoice ($700-$1,000 less).

RUN, don't walk - away from this deal. Here are some problems I see without even getting in too deep: 1) Their "total inv" doesn't even add up correctly. It is $110 too high. 2) TDA? for $560 ???? This is probably something like "Toyota Dealer Adjustment," and would more accurately be labeled "dealer greed." Don't pay it. 3) They're charging you for gas ???? That alone should land them in jail. 4) Dealer holdback ($799) and Whsl Financial Res ($399) should be DEDUCTED from the invoice, not added to it. That's a $2398 swing the other way right there. 5) They should also be $500 UNDER invoice, not over. Your offer on this vehicle should be $36,674 plus tax, title and license and not a penny more. If they don't like it, RUN !! BTW, ask the dealer what he was going to do with the $3508 he was going to over-charge you....betcha his golf club membership is due this month...

Purchased a new 08 Tacoma Double Cab 4X4 Long Bed 2.5 weeks ago: SR5 Tow Package Limited Slip Alloy Wheels 6 CD Changer Spare Tire Lock Floor Mats $27000 OTD, MSRP was 30,200 or so Took the 0% financing instead of rebate. No money down, financed 27k even and drove home in my new toyota. That is all fees, paperwork, this, that, those, and taxes (no taxes in my state). Still haven't shelled out a penny out of my pocket - just received 1st bill which is not due until June. Seemed like a good price to me.... ???? According to the #s the dealerships (contacted 18 of them and those that gave #s were the same) that was basically a few bucks over "invoice" minus holdback ($522). Edmunds and CP #'s had base invoice as more than what the dealers' said, but dealers had advertising fee, gas, and financial reserve added in to their "cost". So who knows what the heck invoice or cost really was. In the end, i dont think I can complain about that price. Most of the dealers I contacted told me politely to go to he## and take the 27k and didnt believe I had an offer for that much. But I did get the 2 closest to me to match eachother so I bought local. It did have 98 miles when I got it - they had to locate it and drive it from another state. Went back last week and added soft Tonneau, running boards (the tube step ones), cargo divider (although it doesnt fit with the tonneau !@#$ they never told me that), and a trailer hitch/ball for another $950ish. I messed that up, should have included them in the purchase and I could have financed them at 0% as well (and maybe gotten a better deal on them). Oh, I also got 2 free oil changes thrown in as well. Buggers wouldn't give me a hat though! 2 plastic coffee mugs, but no free hat. Not gonna use the mugs, but I would have worn the hat - oh well, there goes their free advertising. (no stupid dealer add sticker on the back of the truck either btw)

Actually - in discussions w/ an Atlanta, GA dealer - my wife and I were informed (5/10) that there was a MANDATORY $1,995 "adder" to the price of the Prius. They claimed this was a Southeast Toyota fee and that they were at least disclosing this up front unlike other Toyota dealers. We can fully understand the full MSRP on the vehicle since it seems to be a "hot" item now (factory in Japan at full production capability), but this $2k adder is rediculous (please no lectures on free mkt econ). Question, does anyone know if this adder is nationwide? Or is it indeed just Southeast? Can you go outside their territory, VA?, other?, to avoid this? Any advice/info would be appreciated.
Tampa Florida Prius Lease

The dealer just quoted me $396 pm for a Base Prius (1220). 15,000 miles a year with matts as the only option. That was with 1,000 down and a 2,000 trade in. I have tier 1 credit. That's on a car worth 22,574. The web page for this dealer listed a 12,000 mile per year 36 month lease as $281 pm. Just to get you in the door. Another dealer across town offered $386 pm to be competetive. I'm goint to lease a VW GTI for $269 a month instead. MSRP is a tiny bit higher on the VW than the the Prius. For the difference I don't care if the interior iof the VW is made of baby seal skins. Series: Prius Model: 1220 - Gas/Electric Sedan (CVT) Model Year: 2008 Transmission: Continuously Var. you can do all the research you want on invoice for the prius, but this car is all about supply and demand. They will continue to sell at full MSRP because there is not enough supply for the demand of these gas savers. If you arent willing to pay MSRP, then the next person will.
