Re: 2008 RAV 4 Purchase in Philadelphia Suburbs [cbond1]

Hey CB: Is FL where you got your RAV4? I'm headed for the Tampa Bay area but will be stopping near your area to visit friends on a side trip I'm taking. I thought maybe farther south where people aren't worried so much about snow I might more choices in a RAV4. I wonder if there's more rav4s on the lots in FL than up north? Did you only look in one state? Do I recall you ended up w/Black? What interior color does it have? I saw the Black w/Taupe interior and it was nice...haven't seen the Ash interior yet. I can't get off the Black even tho all my friends are warning me against it. I live in the woods and for 2 months a yr the pollen covers everything with yellow dust. But I'm tired of these "muddy" colored cars--want something dramatic. Certainly intend to check it out this month is FL Happy NY. ellay

Re: Question about invoice price [littlechloe]

Not sure how you can get an accurate invoice. I noticed a wide variation as well, depending on the source - KBB, Edmunds, the dealer, etc. I live in Tampa Bay, Florida nd recently purchased my vehicle after shopping price for awhile. I negotiated with several dealers over the course of a couple of weeks. Most negotiations were on the internet or phone. I also checked CarsDirect, AutoAdvisor and CarBargains. As I understand it, there is a Southeast Toyota admin charge to dealers in the South of $629.00 which makes it more expensive to purchase in AL, FL, GA, NC & SC. I ended up paying $23,200 at a local dealer for the base V6, 2WD with lifetime powertrain warranty and these options: Roof Rack Tonneau cover AM/FM 6 CD Running lights Bumper cover Floor Mats $24,800 with tax, tag & title These were the prices I was given from the buying services: CarsDirect - $25,150 OTD AutoAdvisor - $23,750 (plus tax, tag, title) CarBargains does not negotiate price on the base model

Well, we got the car. Camry CE for 17,877 from Wesley Chapel Toyota in north Tampa, FL. GREAT experience. Love the car. After 7% Tax and TTL plus delivery fee,we paid 19800 OTD. Thank you all for this forum and your help. I followed all the tips here: 1. Had financing ready from RoadLoans 2. Had insurance ready 3. Found out the invoice price of the car from Edmund's 4. Email 5 different dealerships for quotes. The best price I got was $18,350 and I negotiated that down to what we paid. We love the vehicle!
2007 Tacoma Double Cab TRD Sport 4x2
by silverlynx on Mon Jan 15 21:54:37 PST 2007
I used this site to get some advice prior to looking and it helped out huge. I Ended up buying one and here are the details: Tampa FL Dealership Purchase In person Chrome Step Rails / tubes $500 Curtain Airbags ($600) TRD sport package... (sport interior, hood scoop 17" alloy wheels etc... msrp was like 3k on it) 6 disc jbl with amp and sub... the disc player and sub are good. the speakers in the doors are bad... will replace those. that was like 550$ msrp. All weather mats $(100) Tint on windshield and front windows etc... (msrp $150) Exhaust tip (the $50 clamp on) Daytime Running lamps (40$) Tie Downs ???? Towing package (600 msrp) 5 yr 60k mile Car Care plan (850$) Pays for oil changes and alignment, tire rotation balancing etc... Tires for life. Just ask for it. Demand it. 100k bumper to bumper warranty. ($1000) prob didnt need it since its a tacoma but purchased it anyways. NO TOYOGUARD. They would not take it off the price so I had them find me one without it. I didnt want to pay 600 for it. 25% of tacomas come without it. the MSRP on all of this was Just over 30k not including the service plan and warranty. I settled for $26,500 Out the door. Then added on the Service plan, which you have to do anyways to keep the tires for life... and the warranty brought the whole thing to Around $28,300 or so. Gas mileage is around 19mpg. I love it. Very solid. Frontier is not even close.
