Well Rabid RAV Fans I'm officially a RAV owner! I took delivery of the 007 RAV4 Saturday morning and it was the exact model and options I wanted and at the price I asked for! 2007 RAV4 Limited 2WD 4-cyl with JBL, DRL, and carpets for $24,475 Out-The-Door. Not one peso more. I was mentally prepared for them to try and bump me but the deal went through without a hitch. I can honestly say it was the best car buying experience I ever had (among many). Kickbacks aren't just for the dealer! Since they allowed $5000 of the purchase price to go on my VISA card I'll get a $50 reward for that, and they even filled up the tank for free on my way out, a $30 value there. Heck I'm down to $24,395 if you want to look at it like that. The dealership was Gettel Toyota in Bradenton, FL. My internet salesperson was Rick O'Leary. I would definitely recommend the guy, a real straight shooter. I actually live in a different market north of Bradenton in Tampa. Tampa Bay has 12 independent Toyota dealerships in the area and you'd think they'd be fiercely competitive but that's just not the case. The other dealerships were anywhere from $900 to more than $2000 higher than Gettel. It's almost as if they have a little OPEC thing going on. This may well be the best deal I've seen on the boards. Of course it's very difficult to compare deals without using an OTD price. Different trim levels, options and tax rates can be adjusted for, but since there is no standardized set of dealer fees the only way to properly factor these variables into final cost is by using an OTD price. I think OTD price shopping really worked to my advantage. Since the F&I guy can shuffle the numbers a lot of different ways to get to the OTD I may never know how much I actually paid for the car vs the fees. Did they tap into the legendary non-negotiable and "inviolable" $695 destination fee or the $599 Southeast Toyota documentation fee? Heaven forbid! The itemization on my bill-of-sale is deliberately vague. It only lists tax, title, tag transfer and the cost of the vehicle. No further breakdown. I guess I can live with that! I've read where people travel to Fitzmall to get savings like this, why not come to Florida instead? -Brian
Sienna LE Pricing in South East Florida
by mcpguy on Sun Nov 30 06:43:50 PST 2003
We just picked up our LE8 with pckg #1 (AM), mats, and mudguards. We paid $24,750 (excluding sales tag and state tag fee) which is $1275 under EDMUNDS MSRP. I was told by several dealers when quoting people in FL having recently gotten $1500 to $1800 off MSRP on LE's that those prices were more discounted due to them getting more options and high pckgs such as DVD, 10spr stereo, alloys, leather etc. Multiple dealers told me, here is my price for the LE (around $1000 off MSRP routinely (all dealer fees included)) and that I could have all the option packages I wanted for Invoice pricing. Therefore, if I had "loaded her up" I could have gotten more off MSRP. We did not need the options other than what we got. I also only had one dealer tell me I had to get the Toyogaurd from him which I was also unwilling to pay for. Here is what I was offered: For an LE8 with pckg #1 and floormats (mudguards thrown in at one dealer as already prepped that way) PRICES INCLUDED ALL FEES EXCEPT TAX and TAG Stewart Toyota (North Palm Beach) - $24775 - Awesome Internet Sales - Bought here and would again. Agreed to price via email, p-up and pay in 1 hr, and no surprises. Bought my Sienna here from LW as it was in stock. Gettel Toyota (Bradenton) - $25,092 - Clear communication via the web; price included delivery to my door (200 miles away); could have picked up and saved $100. Order needed; not in stock. Others in this forum have bought here with positive reports. Maroone Toyota (W. Ft. Lauderdale)- $24,745 - Best response time and very straight forward and best Internet pricing. Would have bought from JR here but only had model in stock w/ more options than I wanted. Would have had to order and wait 2 weeks. Would have included lojack (tracks stolen cars) for $150 which retails for $600. Toyota of Orlando - $24,900 - Big dealership; volume; recommended once on this forum. They had my model/color in stock (Internet sales group), but only had it with Toyogaurd. Quoted $24,400 until I asked if that was all fees. Then they said, must add $500 fee for I don't know or even care what for a total of $24,900. I would have driven 2 1/2hrs to get it from them if they could have come down to compensate for the unnecessary Toyogaurd, but that was their best price. These were the four dealerships who were the most competitive and/or respectable in Toyota car sales in our SE Florida region that I found. Every one of these dealerships came down in price between $100 and $500 in price from their first quote. I followed up the first quote to my assigned Internet sales person with details call or email of recent pricing of members of this forum with similar outfitted models to get the further reductions. Oh yeah...WE LOVE THE VAN !!!

Hello everyone, there is one thing that is for certain about car dealers, that if you let your guard down they will pull a blanket over your head so that you can't see what they are really doing! Do not trust them. Do not become friends with them. Do not fall for the I'm only making $100 in this deal. Above all, do not let your guard down for one second until the deal is done, and you're out of the dealership with your new vehicle. The deal I posted on 487 did not come through. Deland Toyota, promised the vehicle based on those numbers, but when I asked for the buyer's order they added $1095 to it. Making the sale price $32,111.00. Therefore, I would not recommend you dealing with this dealership. Anyway I got a better deal from Stadium Toyota. I sent them the email I got from Gettel Toyota and asked them to beat it. They did! my sell price now is better than before $31,074.00. I must make mention that Gettel Toyota had the best internet sales manager, and she was honest from the beginning. She gave me the lowest price, and I shopped that against everybody else. I felt a little sad, because the other dealers I had to go back and forth. I will highly recommend you to drop your email requests with Angela Shrimplin at Gettel Toyota in Bradenton, FL. I placed my order with Stadium Toyota because they beat Angela's quote by nearly $600. Quite frankly, I would had ignore it for $200, but $600 is a substantial difference. Now all I have to do is wait. I will continue to post from time to time. When the deal is done I will post the final numbers in detail. One last word of advice when shopping through the internet. Once you get the three best quotes, ask the dealerships to fax you a Buyer's Order spelling out every option added with the respective option code. If there buyer's order is incomplete, DO NOT AGREE UNTIL THEY FIX IT! if you agree you will get a lesser equipped vehicle and they will say that you agreed to it, and that the missing option was never listed on the buyer's order. Additionally, that email quote is nothing without the buyer's order to back it up. Once you have an accurate buyer's order they have to deliver. Good luck!
