2008 sienna le evp #2 lease
by aseet on Fri Jul 18 23:27:02 PDT 2008
just got a brand new 2008 sienna le evp #2 lease at south coast toyota from dave in internet sales 562-230-7690. what an honest gentleman!!! with 0 down only 404 per mo! for 36 mos, 12kmi, 15cents after that. the residual is super low too at $13700 in case we want to buy it or trade it in for some equity at the end of the lease. the deal is so good that once we did the math it didn't make sense for us to buy it even if we want it for more than 3 years. i checked out every other vehicle under 50k with 3 rows of seats, this is by far the best one out there - it is kinda the only one out there that met our requirements (easy and safe for our kids, easy to drive, comfortable ride, space for us and our gear even with all seats in use). all of the suv's were a disappointment and the honda is not as nice as the sienna. plus it has toyota's newer 3.5v6 that is silky smooth and powerful. it would be a mistake not to call dave in internet sales at south coast toyota in costa mesa, ca - he will give you the deal over the phone on the car your want. i needed a ride there and he picked me up (nobody wants to go car shopping on a friday night).

I do like the Elantra, and I agree it's come a long way, but when the Corolla is still going at 200k, will the Elantra be doing the same thing? Too early to tell. Toyota has a long history as a quality car, as does Honda, but it's to early to tell about Hyundai. Time will tell. If gas wasn't approaching $5, I would probably would have just kept my Subara Outlook a bit longer. Photography is my hobby and I like to do frequent road trips. Couldn't do it as often as I liked anymore in the Boo. I had the chance to try the Corolla in the snow in WY and MT recently and it did great. Handles well in the mountains also. There are a couple of things I don't like about it, one being that the back seats don't go all the way down. The Corolla, Civic, and Elantra seem to rule the road lately. Especially in CA. I also don't know how a really tall person could fit into one of those cars and be comfortable. I'm 5'6'' and I have to drive with my seat all the way back.

I got the car tonight at Quality Toyota in Corona, CA for smoking deal. It only took 45 minutes to get everything done. NO hassle, and it was an extremely pleasant experience.

I am looking for a 2009 Toyota Camry LE V6 with only standard features in Classic Silver Metallic for as close to $21.5k as possible as that is the price I have been reading people getting on this forum. If anybody knows of a killer deal like I am looking for on a Camry please let me know! Here are my results so far in my search for anybody else interested in the same car I am looking for. Quality Toyota in Corona, CA The best OTD price they offered me on the phone was $24k Riverside Toyota in Riverside, CA The best OTD price they offered was 23k but the car wasn't going to be in stock until this Friday. Crown Toyota in Ontario, CA Avoid this place like the plague as they do not have the decency to tell you no over the phone but resort to playing typical car salesman games. They offered me 22k I immediately went to their dealership, they showed me a 4 cylinder and I told them to show me the car I asked for then they said they couldn't do it for the price they told me earlier. The "manager" told me the best he could do was 25k.
Re: Rav4 purchasing advice and information [kriebebw]
by thomasw98 on Wed Jul 16 08:03:47 PDT 2008
To Kriebebw: Please see my comments earlier on negotiating price. It has been my experience that dealers in my area (CA) will not give good prices over the internet. Most refuse to give actual numbers and just ask you to "come in to discuss". Many of them stop responding to emails once I asked for below invoice prices. By the way, before deciding against the Rav4, I was able to face to face negotiate the price of the Rav4 down to $300 below invoice. Re Rav ride quality: I decided not to buy a Rav4 because of the ride quality/sound/vibration. I tested the limited version and found the ride to be soft enough over big bumps, but over small bumps (washboard type) or cracks, there was a lot of vibration into the cabin and driver's seat. Also there was quite a bit of wind noise. I was really surprised because I previously owned a Camry 10 years ago which was like a Rolls Royce (smoooooth and quiet) on these same types of roads. I bought a Nissan Rogue SL instead. Fair profit: Using "gross profit" % figures really make the dealers sound like they are getting unfairly squeezed, i.e. 3% sounds really tight. But keep in mind that the dealers do not calculate their finances in the traditional buy/sell way. Most, if not all, the cars on a dealer's lot are NOT owned by the dealer. They are just "borrowed" from the car manufacturer. The dealer's "cost" for these cars is based on an interest-type charge based on the value of the car and the amount of time the dealer holds it for. To make a simple example, a dealer's "carrying cost" (i.e. their real out of pocket) on a Rav4 might be around $500 for one specific car. So if they make $300 profit on that car, they have a nice return on investment (60%!). One final comment: My Toyota dealer's sale manager was quite aggressive about claiming I was "asking them to lose money on the car." My response was just to laugh at his face and tell him to "figure it out." Actually I was pretty insulted that he would try to lie to me and tell me they are losing money at $300 below their fake "invoice price". Even though I got him to agree to the price eventually, this may have also influenced my feeling about (not) buying a Rav4.
