Residuals
by youngjo6 on Wed May 23 17:51:08 PDT 2007
Car_man, First of all, you're a saint. I'm looking at a 2007 package 2 with a net cap cost=21995 and a money factor=.0025. I was wondering if you knew the current residuals for area codes 93030 and 93101(Oxnard and Santa Barbara CA) and if 21995 is a good price for that model. Thanks!!!

If you don't mind coming out to Ventura, CA (just north of LA on the Coast), Toyota of Oxnard will give you $1.5k plus rebate ($500) under invoice, but then they add advertising fee of $330, and a set up fee $50. Make sure you ask for the INTERNET SALES DEPARTMENT. That's where I ended up buying mine. They'll send you a quote via email and stand by it. Found them through edmunds.com through the pop-up that asked if you wanted a quote on a new car. I had leather installed for another $1,000. Gave me a rental car while it was in the shop.
Toyota of Oxnard, CA

Yesterday took ownership of an 05 Camry XLE 4cl with premium option (leather, aluminum wheels) , side air bags, floor and trunk mats. Indigo Ink with grey leather. Gorgious! MSRP $25500 or so. Paid $20400 after rebate plus TL. Great deal. Great service. Used Edmunds.com. This is my second deal with this dealer in two years, both through Edmunds, both great experiances. Internet saleman was Matt Dimmitt. I've done over 50 car deals and this was the easiest and most satisfying. This dealer is highly recommended.
2005 Camry LE auto., CA,CF options for $16,495
by bernie3 on Sat Jan 01 22:00:07 PST 2005
On 12/28 I purchased the above car from Toyota of Orange (Orange, CA)for their advertised price of $16,995, less the $500 rebate in effect in CA. As a result of researching Edmunds, following this forum since July, and obtaining several internet quotes, I know I got a great deal. The OTD price was $17,942. (sales tax of 7.25% is computed on the rebate too).   I'll relay my experience and other quotes I received in case it may benefit others who are shopping for a similar car in southern California.   Their ad in the Sunday paper (Register) for 12/26 stated they were offering 25 Camry LEs with a MSRP of $20,701 for sale at the price of $16,495 with the rebate applied. The ad (and others that appeared in the same paper) stated that their prices were only in effect for that day. I didn't see the ad until late Monday, but I went to their website and saw names and phone numbers posted for three internet/ fleet salesmen.   On Tuesday I called the name listed as "manager" of fleet sales and told him I was in southern Cal. for a few days and intented to buy a Camry within the next 48 hours. I mentioned the ad and told him if he had the color I wanted, at the price advertised, then he had just sold a car and I would be there within the hour to pick it up.   To my pleasant surprise he said they would honor the price in the ad. Of the colors I was interested in (Salsa Red, Mineral Green, & and Sky Blue) they only had the Salsa Red in the base LE automatic with just the floor mat option. He had the Salsa Red in both the taupe and the stone gray upholstery options. I looked at both, selected the taupe, took a test drive and he wrote it up.   I give high marks to the people I dealt with at Toyota of Orange. It was a professional transaction with no hype or unexpected add-ons. (I WAS offered an alarm system for $400+ that they supposedly install on the cars and remove if the buyer doesn't want it. I declined it, and there was no pressure to buy it). There were no offers of upholstery treatments, paint protections, warranty extensions, or the smoke & mirrors nonsense many of us have experienced before.   I brought a pre-approval letter for 60 month financing at 4.6% from my credit union and they offered me Toyota financing for 4.4% for the same term, which I accepted. (Rates have gone up since July). I was at the dealer for a total of perhaps two hours from the time I arrived, until the time I drove away in my new car. Oh, they gave me a free tank of gas too!   The best quote I had prior to going to Toyota of Orange was for $17,025 from Toyota of Oxnard, and $17,338 from Carson Toyota. My plan was to call Carson and see if they would match the Oxnard offer. I would have been happy with a price of $17,150. I never expected to buy a car from a newspaper ad, but when the ad mentioned they had 25 cars at that price (instead of the typical one or two) I figured they wanted to move cars.   I noticed that Fridays and Sundays seem to be the days that the full page Toyota ads appear, so watch those days if you are ready to buy. Patience pays off. Research pays off. Letting them know you are ready to buy now helps. (The fact that I was buying in the last few days of the month AND the year may have helped. Also it was raining, which may have helped. (Slow sales day?)   To all those that have posted your experience and knowledge of the Camry in these forums, THANK YOU! I just drove over 600 miles in the car today, returning home, and the car is great. The 5 speed automatic is a great transmission... on down grades, if you apply your brakes to slow the car's tendency to pick up speed, the trans. downshifts out of O.D. to help you stabilize your speed -- a great feature.
Re: Camrys for Three Grand under MSRP

That makes at least 3 California dealers that are offering the 2005 Camry LEs for around $17,000 -- the dealer you bought through, Mossy Toyota, and Toyota of Oxnard. Why buy a 2004 at this point? Glad I waited. There's some valuable info. in these posts if you read back a ways and track the conversation back a couple weeks. MSRP on a 2005 LE automatic, with no added options is about $19,975. Can anyone confirm a $750 rebate on '05s in CA?

Excellent price -- congratulations! Can you share a few details, such as: the dealer's name?, how you got that price? (internet quote, walked in and made offer, dealer advertised one at that price, or..?). How many miles on the car? Another writer in this forum got the same price in Oxnard and you both did very well. I'm sure others would like to learn more about your experience. Thanks.
